- Fit and setting: Choose a comfortable frame that positions the lenses in front of your eyes. The FDA suggests lighter or medium cosmetic tints for ordinary settings and darker shades for very bright settings, such as a beach or ski area.
- Budget: Compare the current displayed price and product details. A lower price is not evidence of worse or better protection.

For NFL Shop’s current team-branded range, browse its sunglasses listings. The NFL announced that Oakley’s official eyewear partnership extends through 2030, but that partnership term does not guarantee that a particular model is currently available. What polarized and tinted lenses do—and do not tell you
Polarization is a glare-related feature, which may be useful outdoors. It does not establish how much UV radiation a lens blocks. Likewise, a dark lens is not automatically more protective than a lighter one. Use the exact pair’s labeling for protection claims, and choose tint based on brightness and comfort rather than assuming tint equals UV protection.

Keep fan sunglasses separate from football safety gear
Use these glasses for sunlight and fan style, not as equipment for playing football. The FDA says, “Sunglasses are not recommended for high-risk impact sports participants.” Its guidance also explains that sunglasses are not shatterproof and are not designed to protect against high-impact hazards. Players need appropriate impact-protective sports eyewear, not ordinary fashion or fan sunglasses.
