As of October 8, 2026, Apple’s U.S. store lists the iPhone 17 from $899, iPhone 17e from $699, and iPhone Air from $1,099. Those are starting prices, not necessarily the lowest prices available elsewhere. Apple also displays carrier-offer summaries, but the true value depends on eligibility, plan costs, trade-in terms, and bill-credit rules. For iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, check individual retailers: Apple has removed those models from its current lineup, and any remaining carrier offers depend on live stock and terms.
Current iPhone 17 series prices and where to check
The prices below are the starting prices shown on Apple’s U.S. store on October 8, 2026. They are useful direct-purchase reference points, not a claim that Apple has the lowest available price.
| Model | Apple U.S. listed starting price | Where to check offers |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 17 | From $899. Apple U.S. iPhone 17 | Apple’s product page shows carrier-offer summaries; compare live offers at Apple and carriers. |
| iPhone 17e | From $699. Apple U.S. iPhone 17e | Apple’s product page shows carrier-offer summaries; compare live offers at Apple and carriers. |
| iPhone Air | From $1,099. Apple U.S. iPhone Air | Apple’s product page shows carrier-offer summaries; compare live offers at Apple and carriers. |
| iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max | Apple no longer lists these models in its current lineup; a current Apple price is not stated. A roundup published October 6, 2026 reports their removal as newer Pro models arrived. Apple product pages also show trade-in estimates and carrier promotions. Trade-in value depends on the device offered and current terms, and promotion summaries do not by themselves establish the full eligibility rules or net savings. Check the seller’s live offer before purchasing.
How to tell whether a carrier deal is actually cheaper
A large advertised discount can depend on a qualifying plan, a new line or port-in, an eligible trade-in, and monthly bill credits. Compare the total cost over the period you must keep the account and device, rather than the headline credit alone.

A Tom’s Guide roundup published October 6, 2026 reports that Apple raised prices by $100 in September and removed iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max from its lineup as newer Pro models arrived. That is a time-sensitive report, not a permanent price rule. Carriers may still list offers for the 17 Pro models, but an offer should be treated as available only after confirming current inventory and its conditions with the seller.

A practical way to choose
- Set a direct-buy benchmark. Use the current Apple starting price for the model you want as a reference, then check other sellers for the same model and storage.
- Open the full promotion terms. Record the required plan, line or port-in, trade-in device, installment duration, credits, fees, and cancellation rules.
- Compare total outlay. Add phone payments, required plan costs and fees; subtract only credits you can reasonably expect to receive while meeting the conditions.
- Confirm availability at checkout. Recheck the exact model, storage, and offer terms immediately before ordering, especially for iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
