The offers below are historical and have expired; their dates, prices, codes, and participation terms are not current. Starbucks’ South Cone campaign included selected drink discounts and country-specific cup offers, while U.S. promotions included app-based freebies and discounts on coffee products.
International Coffee Day and U.S. National Coffee Day were different dates
International Coffee Day was October 1, 2024. The U.S. National Coffee Day promotions covered in contemporaneous U.S. coverage were tied to September 29—two days earlier. Some retail campaigns continued through October 1, but that does not make every September 29 offer an International Coffee Day promotion. Offers also varied by country, participating location, and loyalty or app requirements.
For a current promotion, check the merchant’s terms for its dates, eligible locations, purchase requirements, membership or app rules, product exclusions, and offer type. None of the 2024 codes or terms below should be treated as active.
Starbucks’ 2024 International Coffee Day offers in the South Cone
A Starbucks regional announcement dated September 30, 2024 described activities in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay. The campaign had both a multi-day drink promotion and separate October 1 events and reusable-cup conditions.

It also listed free Espresso Choice and an additional 15% discount for customers bringing a reusable mug or personal tumbler. These were terms for that 2024 regional campaign, not a general Starbucks offer for other markets or years. (Starbucks Stories – Latin America)

U.S. National Coffee Day: Dunkin’ and other reported promotions
Dunkin’: free medium coffee with an app order
For Sunday, September 29, 2024, Dunkin’ announced that Dunkin’ Rewards members could get one free medium hot or iced coffee with a qualifying purchase made through an order-ahead Dunkin’ app order. Cold brew, nitro cold brew, gift-card purchases, delivery-platform orders, and guest orders were excluded; additional charges could apply, and participation could vary. - Check the date and duration. Confirm whether an offer applies on October 1, September 29, or across a longer campaign window.
- Confirm geography and location. Regional campaigns may apply only in named countries or participating stores.
- Look for a required purchase. A “free” drink or product may require another purchase.
- Check loyalty and ordering rules. Membership, app ordering, order-ahead, or a specific account may be required.
- Read exclusions. Drink types, delivery orders, gift cards, or other items may not qualify.
- Identify the offer type. A free item, percentage discount, retail-product promotion, and café offer have different terms.
For the offers above, Starbucks’ regional announcement and Dunkin’s newsroom post provide the strongest primary-source details. Other merchant examples are attributed to a 2024 roundup, so their specific terms should be understood as reported historical offers rather than independently documented current deals.
