Filson describes Rugged Twill as lightly dry-waxed and abrasion resistant, and Tin Cloth as tightly woven, oil-finished duck canvas. These are manufacturer material descriptions, not independent durability comparisons.
Does a Filson briefcase fit a 15-inch laptop?
Both models are listed for a 15-inch laptop. The distinction is that Filson explicitly identifies a padded computer compartment on the 24 Hour model; the cited Original listing says it is sized for a laptop up to 15 inches but does not specify padding. If padding is a requirement, verify the product details and consider using a separate protective sleeve where appropriate.

Which Filson briefcase is better for work or travel?
For a traditional work briefcase
Choose the Rugged Twill Original if you want a classic daily-work layout and do not need the 24 Hour’s luggage pass-through. Its listed 13L capacity, dividers and two exterior stow pockets suit a more compact work carry.
For business travel

How to care for a Filson canvas briefcase
Follow the current care guidance for the specific model. For the 24 Hour Tin Cloth Briefcase, Filson advises against washing or dry cleaning; brush it or wipe it with a damp rag, and rewax it as needed to maintain maximum water resistance.
