Best Crypto Presales of 2025? A Retrospective on Notable Token Sales

CoinList, PancakeSwap, and Arrakis reported different kinds of 2025 sale and launch data. Here is what the figures show—and why they cannot identify a guaranteed winner or current buy.

There is no evidence-based way to name a single “best” crypto presale of 2025 or to promise that any sale can maximize your investment potential. The available figures document activity and selected historical outcomes, not a dependable ranking of investments. CoinList reported sales for 21 projects in 2025; PancakeSwap reported three CAKE.PAD sales; and Arrakis Finance examined a limited sample of token generation events. These are different categories, and none makes an ended sale a current buying opportunity. This retrospective compares what those sources actually reported and what a buyer would still need to verify.

What can “best crypto presales of 2025” mean?

“Best” depends on what is being measured: demand during a sale, product delivery, token rights, liquidity, or later market performance. Those measures are not interchangeable. A sale can attract heavy demand without producing a durable product or a token that rises in value. Likewise, a post-launch price peak does not tell you what a buyer could sell for, when they could sell, or whether they made a profit.

The sources below also use different labels. CoinList describes token sales, PancakeSwap reports CAKE.PAD sales, and Arrakis Finance analyzes token generation events (TGEs). They should not all be relabeled as presales. The evidence supports a comparison of notable 2025 sale activity, not a universal ranking of the year’s best investments.

What did the documented 2025 sales and launches show?

Source and scope What it reported What the figures do—and do not—show
CoinList, its 2025 year-end report on token sales CoinList said it ran sales for 21 projects, with more than $95 million in tokens purchased and 70,000+ investors across 110 countries. It reported that 18 of 21 sales (86%) were oversubscribed. These are platform-reported activity and demand figures, not independently verified investor returns. Oversubscription means demand exceeded a sale’s allocation; it does not establish later price appreciation.
CoinList, selected token sale/TGE performance figures CoinList presented all-time-high multiples of 17.04x for DoubleZero, 7.73x for Intuition, and 6.74x for WalletConnect. These are CoinList-reported peak multiples, not current returns, realized gains, or evidence that a future sale will perform similarly. The cited figures do not establish each buyer’s entry price, ability to sell at the peak, or net result after fees and restrictions.
PancakeSwap, 2025 CAKE.PAD sales PancakeSwap hosted sales for Sigma.Money, WhiteBridge Network, and LeverUp. It reported oversubscription of 992x, 1,425x, and 678x, respectively. These are reported sale-demand multiples, not post-sale performance. A large demand multiple does not by itself establish product adoption, token value, or investor profit.
Arrakis Finance, H1 2025 TGE analysis Arrakis reported that four assets rose and six declined from token generation through May 31, 2025. Its analysis covered ten selected high-profile or high-value non-memecoin launches from January to May, not the full market or all presales. It is a bounded historical sample, not a success-rate forecast.

The sources do not establish a standardized, independently verified full-year dataset comparing sale terms, vesting, fees, liquidity, and investor outcomes across these examples. They also do not establish which named projects remain available to buy as of October 8, 2026. Treat the figures as dated historical reporting, not a live shortlist or recommendation.

Can a 2025 presale’s demand or past performance predict returns?

No. Oversubscription measures interest relative to a particular sale allocation; it says nothing conclusive about the token’s later supply, market liquidity, real use, or value. A peak multiple records a price point, not a typical buyer’s realized return. Token prices can be volatile, trading may be thin or restricted, and a token may lose value even when a project continues operating.

Arrakis Finance’s small sample illustrates why sale activity and launch outcomes should be kept separate: in its ten selected non-memecoin TGEs, four assets rose and six fell between token generation and May 31, 2025. That observation neither predicts the outcome of another offering nor represents all 2025 token sales.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Customer Advisory, “Use Caution When Buying Digital Coins or Tokens,” puts the speculation risk plainly: “Buying digital coins or tokens only because you expect to sell them at a higher price later is the definition of speculation and carries considerable risk, regardless of how good a white paper, application or business plan sounds.”

What should you check before buying a token sale?

Use due diligence to identify unanswered questions and risks, not as a formula for predicting returns. The SEC Division of Corporation Finance’s April 10, 2025 statement discusses disclosure for certain securities offerings; it does not decide whether a crypto asset is a security and is not a blanket classification of every token sale. Investor.gov and the SEC materials point to several practical areas to examine:

  • Project delivery and use: What exists now, what remains planned, and what evidence shows people use the product? A roadmap or white paper is not proof of delivery or adoption.
  • Token rights and utility: What does holding the token actually let you do, if anything? Check voting, access, payment, or other stated rights, and whether holders have any claim on revenue or assets. Do not infer rights from the token’s name.
  • Supply, allocation, and vesting: Find the total and circulating supply, allocation to the team and other groups, unlock dates, and any lockups. Future unlocks can change the amount of tradable supply. If terms are not disclosed clearly, do not fill the gap with assumptions.
  • Valuation and sale terms: Compare the sale price and implied valuation with the supply expected to circulate at launch and later. Check how the proceeds will be used, any fees, whether refunds are possible, and restrictions on resale.
  • Liquidity and access: Verify whether trading is actually available, where it occurs, and whether you can legally and practically access it. A planned listing is not the same as an active market, and a listing does not guarantee liquidity.
  • Code, security, and custody: Look for publicly available code and independent audits, and read what each audit did and did not cover. An audit cannot eliminate software, operational, or cybersecurity risk.
  • Legal status and disclosures: Check the offering’s legal documents, any stated registration or exemption information, and the rules that apply where you live. Classification and protections depend on facts and jurisdiction, not just the label “presale.”
  • People, controls, and recovery: Consider who controls contracts and treasury funds, how keys are protected, and what recourse exists if funds are stolen or the project fails. Recovery after fraud or theft may be limited.

Investor.gov specifically advises prospective buyers to examine use of proceeds, token rights, refund and resale limitations, applicable registration or exemption information, public code, and independent security audits. The SEC’s disclosure guidance for certain securities offerings identifies project development, holder rights, security and custody, supply and vesting, liquidity, volatility, technical, business, cybersecurity, and legal risks. These are useful questions, not proof that an offering is safe or regulated.

What risks and protections matter?

Token offerings can expose buyers to sharp price changes, limited liquidity, few or no meaningful holder rights, technical or cybersecurity failures, theft, fraud, and project failure. A polished site, prominent exchange or service provider, or high demand multiple does not remove those risks. The UK Financial Conduct Authority’s ICO warning, last updated February 27, 2019, describes ICOs as high-risk and speculative and notes that regulatory status depends on the structure and facts of the offering. Because that warning is older and jurisdiction-specific, use it as a dated caution rather than a statement of current rules everywhere.

Rules and protections vary by jurisdiction and by the particular offering. The European Securities and Markets Authority warned on July 11, 2025 about a “halo effect” when regulated crypto-asset service providers also offer unregulated products: authorisation of a provider does not mean that every product it offers is regulated. Confirm the status of the specific token and service rather than relying on a platform’s general credentials.

A hardware wallet may help protect the private keys for tokens it supports after acquisition, if it is set up and used securely. It cannot make an offering legitimate, give a token liquidity or legal protections, prevent market losses or project failure, or stop every form of theft or phishing. Custody security and investment risk are separate questions.

Why isn’t there a definitive “best” list?

A ranking requires comparable terms and outcomes. The 2025 figures available here come from platforms reporting their own activity and from an analysis with a narrow sample and cutoff. They do not provide a complete, independently verified comparison of every project’s token rights, supply, vesting, valuation, fees, liquidity, current status, and investor results. Coincub’s January 2026 announcement describes a ranking of 2025 launches based on adoption, utility, execution, transparency, liquidity access, and regulatory readiness; its scope is broader than presales, and Coincub says its report is not investment advice. A launch ranking should not be silently treated as a presale ranking.

For any named project, independently verify the current offering or trading status, official sale documents, token contract, vesting schedule, supported jurisdictions, and actual market access before taking action. None of the historical statistics above can substitute for those checks.
