The best college student discounts are the ones you qualify for and would use anyway. Start with your college’s own benefits, then check verified offers for shopping, streaming, software and devices. Before signing up, compare the ongoing cost with any trial or introductory deal, and check how often you must verify enrollment.
This guide covers U.S.-oriented examples reviewed on October 4, 2026. Offers, prices, eligibility rules and seasonal promotions can change; confirm the live terms for your location before enrolling or buying.
What is a student discount?
Student Beans defines a student discount as an exclusive saving on a product or service offered to students. In practice, it may be a reduced subscription price, a membership benefit, an education price on selected products, or a limited-time promotion. Eligibility varies by offer: a school email may be enough for one service, while another may require a student ID, enrollment documents, access to a school portal or age verification.
How to find and evaluate student deals
- Check your college first. Look at its IT, library and student-services pages for institution-licensed software, cloud storage, tutoring, transit, recreation and other local benefits. Availability depends on the school, so confirm the current terms with your institution.
- Use a deal platform to discover offers. Student Beans provides online codes and in-store access across categories including food, broadband, laptops, cinema and travel. Its U.S. information describes eligibility for students in full-time education with an institutional email or student ID, and annual account renewal. Treat a listing as a lead, not a promise that a particular brand’s deal is active or worthwhile. UNiDAYS is another verification service; Apple uses it for U.S. education-order verification.
- Check the merchant’s terms before checkout. Confirm the school or age requirements, eligible products, country, excluded sale items, stacking rules and the final checkout price. The merchant’s terms govern even when you found the offer through a platform or roundup.
- Work out the real cost. Compare the continuing price with any trial or introductory offer, and account for ads, restrictions, included services and renewal timing. A discount is not a saving if you would not otherwise pay for the product.
- Set a reminder for verification and renewal. Some offers require recurring proof of enrollment and end after a maximum student period. Check what happens to the price or access if you graduate, stop qualifying or miss reverification.
Shopping and delivery memberships
Amazon Prime for Young Adults
Amazon’s Prime for Young Adults help information says enrollment can be verified by age or student status. Student verification routes include a form, a .edu email address, or proof such as a student ID or official acceptance letter. Listed benefits include shipping, Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Photos, student-exclusive offers, Prime Gaming and a Twitch channel subscription. Amazon also notes that some benefits are unavailable during the $0 trial and that benefits cannot be shared.

Amazon’s reviewed help page did not state the trial duration or continuing price. NBC Select’s August 11, 2026 roundup reported a six-month trial followed by $7.49 per month and described eligibility for students and young adults ages 18–24. Those are secondary-reported terms, not a substitute for checking Amazon’s current offer before enrolling.
Other retailer memberships and seasonal offers
NBC Select’s 2026 roundup also names Target College Student Appreciation, Walmart+ Student and a Sam’s Club student membership. Treat these as places to investigate rather than confirmed current deals: check each retailer’s official terms for eligibility, current price, trial length, delivery minimums and renewal conditions.

Roundups can also help you spot possible discounts on school supplies, dorm décor, bedding, storage, tech tools, apparel and footwear. Verify the specific product and checkout total; a retailer-wide student offer may exclude sale items or selected brands.
Streaming and digital subscriptions
| Offer | What the reviewed terms say | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Spotify Premium Student | Eligible college or university students get Premium at a discount for up to four years, with renewal and reverification every 12 months, according to Spotify Support. The U.S. offer includes Hulu (With Ads) at no extra cost, subject to eligibility and verification. | The school must appear in the verification form. Applicants may need a university portal or enrollment proof. Payment methods depend on location; carrier billing is not accepted for this plan. Students studying abroad should align the account region and locally issued payment method with the country where they study. Confirm the current local price and bundle terms. |
| Apple Music Student Plan | Apple’s U.S. Education Store listed the plan at $2.99 per month for students and educators as reviewed on October 4, 2026, with Apple TV access and Apple Creator Studio. | Confirm current eligibility, bundle contents, tax and price at enrollment; offers can change. |
The subscriptions are not directly interchangeable just because both have student terms: compare the services you actually use, the full bundle and its limitations, and the cost after any eligibility period ends. The listed Apple price is the reviewed U.S. figure, not a promise that the same price or bundle applies in other markets or later.

Software and study tools
Check for software through your college
Your institution may already license software or provide cloud storage, tutoring and other academic tools. Start with campus IT or library information, since a college-provided benefit may be more useful than buying an individual student subscription. Do not assume access without checking your school’s current terms.
Microsoft Office 365 Education
Microsoft says students and educators at eligible institutions can sign up for Office 365 Education at no cost, with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams and classroom tools. Access depends on institutional eligibility and a valid school email. Check whether your institution qualifies and what access remains available if your eligibility changes.

Computers and physical purchases
Microsoft education pricing
Microsoft’s U.S. Education page describes a 10% discount on selected physical products, including selected Surface devices, student laptops, PCs and accessories. The discount excludes Office software and subscriptions, games, consoles and accessories, customized products and gift cards. Microsoft says it cannot be combined with other promotions and that the deeper applicable price is used. Check the product’s eligibility and final price rather than assuming every configuration qualifies.
Apple education pricing
Apple’s U.S. Education Store lists education savings on selected devices, including MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. Apple’s shopping help describes eligibility for current and newly accepted college students and their parents, as well as specified education personnel; U.S. orders are verified through UNiDAYS. Compare configurations, campus purchasing options, warranty, return policy and total cost before choosing a device. A lower education price alone does not establish that a computer suits a student’s major or budget.
Best Value
- It can be a gift option
- Comes with secure packaging
- Helpful in various ways
Check the product and the seller
Education pricing on a manufacturer’s store does not establish that the same discount applies to an Amazon listing or another retailer. For a college laptop or study accessory, compare the exact specifications and total price across eligible campus and retailer options, and read the return and warranty terms. Do not choose a device solely because a listing calls it a student deal.
Seasonal promotions: check the dates
Apple’s 2026 U.S. College Student Offer ran from July 16 through September 24, 2026, according to Apple’s official promotion terms. It had ended by October 4, 2026. That date range describes that specific promotion only; check Apple’s current terms for any later offer rather than assuming it continues annually or is still available.
Which deal is actually worth taking?
- For a recurring service: Compare the continuing cost, bundle, ad level, renewal interval and maximum period of student eligibility.
- For a membership: Value the benefits you will use, and check trial exclusions, sharing rules and delivery conditions.
- For a device or other purchase: Compare the same configuration and total checkout cost, not just the advertised percentage off.
- For any offer: Confirm eligibility and current terms with the merchant, and skip it if the product is not something you would otherwise buy.
No authoritative market-wide figure establishes how much college students save across discounts, and there is no universal ranking of the “best” offer. The useful choice depends on what the student qualifies for and will actually use.
