HotHardware reported that saving on October 6, 2025, for a specific Acer Nitro 60 desktop configuration; Best Buy listings observed on October 8, 2026 show different Acer RTX 50 products and prices. Check the exact model and checkout total before treating any Techtober price as available.
Where the $690-off figure came from
HotHardware’s October 6, 2025 article described an Acer Nitro 60 desktop with an Intel Core i5-14400F, GeForce RTX 5060, 64GB of RAM, and a 4TB SSD. The report put the PC at $1,599 at Best Buy and described that as a $690 saving. It also mentioned an included 1TB docking station. Those figures identify a past offer, not a price verified for October 2026. HotHardware’s report explicitly said, “We have not tested this model ourselves,” so the deal coverage should not be read as an independent performance review.
What current listings show—and what they do not
Best Buy search results crawled October 8, 2026 showed an Acer Nitro V laptop with a Core 7 240H processor, RTX 5060, 16GB of memory, and 512GB of storage listed for $1,149.99 with $480 in stated savings and a Techtober Deal label. That is a different product class and configuration from the 2025 Nitro 60 desktop. Search results also included other Nitro configurations with different discounts. Best Buy’s Acer gaming laptop results are a dated snapshot; price, availability, and deal labels can change.
A separate 9to5Toys roundup published October 5, 2026 reported a Best Buy Acer Predator Orion desktop with a Core Ultra 7 265KF, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB of memory, and 1TB of storage at $2,270 against a stated $2,600 regular price. The roundup described Best Buy’s wider event as covering gaming laptops and desktops, monitors, and peripherals. This is another distinct configuration, not a continuation of the Nitro 60 deal. How to compare Acer RTX 50 deals
“RTX 50” identifies a graphics-card generation, not a single performance level. A laptop RTX 5060, a desktop RTX 5060, and a desktop RTX 5070 Ti are not interchangeable deal descriptions. Compare the actual listing rather than relying on the Acer Nitro or Predator family name.
- Form factor and exact model: Confirm whether the offer is for a laptop or desktop and match the full model number. A Nitro V laptop is not the Nitro 60 desktop.
- Graphics card: Check the exact GPU, such as RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 Ti, and whether the listing is for a laptop or desktop.
- Processor, memory, and storage: Compare the processor model, installed RAM, and included storage. Configurations in the cited offers range from 16GB RAM and 512GB storage to 64GB RAM and a 4TB SSD.
- Laptop display or desktop bundle: For a laptop, check the screen specifications. For a desktop, verify included accessories or docking equipment rather than assuming a bundle from a headline.
- Seller and final price: Check who sells the item, the checkout price, stock, and pickup or delivery timing. Treat a stated “regular” price or savings label as the retailer’s comparison, not proof of a lasting discount.
The cited sources do not establish standardized independent benchmark results for these exact configurations, so their deal prices alone do not show how the systems compare in games.
