Archive notice: Black Friday 2025 was November 28, 2025. The prices in this article are historical U.S. snapshots from that sale and have expired; they are not August or October 2026 offers. Use the official links to check current models and prices, or to prepare for the next Black Friday.
The best all-around value was the 128GB Wi‑Fi 11th-generation iPad at about $274. The best inexpensive media tablet was the 64GB Amazon Fire HD 10 at about $79. Android shoppers had strong alternatives in Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S10 FE and Lenovo’s Idea Tab Plus bundle, while the iPad Pro made sense only for buyers who could use its premium performance or display.

Best tablet for each buyer
Best tablet for most people: 11th-generation iPad
MacRumors reported the 128GB Wi‑Fi model at $274, $75 below its $349 reference price, on November 28, 2025, and described it as an all-time low at that time (MacRumors). Tom’s Guide highlighted the A16 chip, longer battery life and 128GB starting capacity as reasons it suited most buyers (Tom’s Guide). It was the safest choice for school, streaming, games, creative apps and long-term everyday use.

Skip it when: you need macOS software, cellular service, or a keyboard and Pencil included in the box. Those accessories and storage upgrades raise the total.
Best cheap streaming tablet: Amazon Fire HD 10
Best Products recorded a 64GB Fire HD 10 at about $79, with a 10.1-inch 1080p display and a stated 13-hour battery estimate (Best Products). Earlier coverage saw a 32GB Wi‑Fi version at $69, showing why capacity and date must accompany the price (Tom’s Guide).
Fire OS is based on Android but does not provide the standard Google Play experience by default. It works well for Amazon content, streaming, reading and light browsing, but app availability, gaming and multitasking are more limited than on an iPad or conventional Android tablet.
Skip it when: you require Google apps without workarounds, demanding games, professional productivity or a large amount of internal storage. Confirm whether the listing is ad-supported before buying it as a gift.

Best tablet for children: Fire HD Kids Pro
Tom’s Guide listed the Fire HD Kids Pro at $109 (Tom’s Guide live coverage). Its value came from the child-focused case and parental-control/content features, not from matching an iPad’s performance.
Skip it when: the user is an adult, needs unrestricted app-store access, or will use demanding school or creative software.
Best Android tablet for most people: Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE
Black Friday and Cyber Monday reports placed the Galaxy Tab S10 FE between $324.68 and $359, depending on seller, configuration and timing (TechRadar; SamMobile). Samsung’s own U.S. promotion listed $359 without trade-in. Verify storage and whether an S Pen is included in the particular listing.
The FE offered a conventional Android app ecosystem, Samsung multitasking and a better productivity path than entry-level tablets. It was a sensible fit for Galaxy-phone owners and buyers who wanted Android rather than iPadOS.

Best Lenovo value: Idea Tab Plus bundle
9to5Google reported the 2025 Lenovo Idea Tab Plus bundle at $199.99 through Amazon’s Black Friday Week promotion, including a folio case and Pen, versus an approximately $300 bundle value (9to5Google). The accessories made this a better comparison than a bare tablet at a similar price.
Skip it when: you prioritize the longest, most predictable software-support runway or need professional drawing performance. Confirm the exact memory, storage, digitizer and update policy.

The 128GB Wi‑Fi iPad mini 7 was reported at $399, down from $499, on November 28 (MacRumors). Its compact size suited reading, travel and handheld gaming.

Best premium tablet: iPad Pro
Tom’s Guide reported historical prices of $849 for an 11-inch 256GB model and $1,099 for a 13-inch 256GB model (Tom’s Guide live coverage). Coverage from 2025 referred to both M4 and newer M5 iPad Pro listings, so identify the chip generation before comparing prices.
The Pro was appropriate for demanding creative workflows, premium display requirements and buyers already invested in Apple’s accessory ecosystem. It was poor value for basic browsing, reading and video.

Apple, Fire, Samsung and Lenovo: ecosystem trade-offs
Apple iPad and iPadOS
iPads offer a broad tablet-optimized app ecosystem, strong support longevity and easy integration with other Apple devices. The 11th-generation model’s 128GB starting point improved the entry deal. Accessories, storage upgrades and cellular connectivity cost extra, and iPadOS is not macOS.

Amazon Fire OS
Fire tablets win on sale price and simplicity for Amazon media, reading and children’s use. Fire OS is not interchangeable with standard Android: Google Play is not provided by default, low-end hardware is limited, and some editions show lock-screen advertisements.
Samsung Galaxy Tab
Samsung covers budget A-series models through premium S-series tablets, with strong multitasking and, on qualifying models, an included S Pen. Model names, storage tiers and promotional conditions are easy to confuse; some offers depend on Samsung-specific incentives or trade-in terms.
Lenovo Android tablets
Lenovo often competes through low prices and accessory bundles. The Idea Tab Plus was unusually compelling because the Pen and folio were included. Check update support, memory, storage and the exact retailer configuration before treating a bundle as a productivity purchase.
How to evaluate a tablet deal
- Identify the complete model: record generation, chip, screen size, storage and Wi‑Fi or cellular connectivity.
- Calculate the real total: include tax, shipping, required membership, coupon, financing, trade-in and accessories.
- Check what is in the box: verify a Pen, Apple Pencil, keyboard, folio, dock, charger or kids case rather than assuming it is included.
- Check software fit: confirm required apps, Google Play access, multitasking, parental controls and compatibility with your phone or computer.
- Check longevity: compare current and older generations, update expectations, storage headroom, warranty and return policy.
- Validate the reference price: a “was” price may be a manufacturer list price, normal street price or retailer claim. Do not combine percentages from different sources.
Historical price timeline
| Period | Examples reported | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Early November | Fire HD 10 32GB at $69; iPad around $324 in Tom’s Guide coverage | Early promotions were not the same configurations as later deals. |
| Black Friday Week | Idea Tab Plus bundle at $199.99 on Nov. 24 | Accessory bundles can change value more than the tablet’s percentage discount. |
| Black Friday, Nov. 28 | iPad 128GB at $274; iPad mini 7 at $399; Fire HD 10 64GB around $79 | These are dated snapshots, not universal sale prices. |
| Cyber Monday and Dec. 1 | Galaxy Tab S10 FE as low as $324.68; OnePlus Pad 3 at $579.99 | Some prices fell or changed after Black Friday. |
Deals to skip, depending on your needs
- Skip Fire 7 for demanding apps, gaming or an HD viewing experience.
- Skip low-storage iPads if you keep large games, video projects or downloaded media.
- Skip an older Galaxy Tab when a newer FE model is close in price.
- Skip iPad Pro if your use is mainly streaming, reading or casual browsing.
- Skip Lenovo bundles if maximum software-support longevity matters more than the included accessories.
- Skip any “from” price until you confirm storage, connectivity, seller, return policy and whether ads, coupons, membership or trade-in are involved.
