Why this was the best mainstream MacBook deal
- The M4 model was the newest generation among the discounted Air configurations listed.
- It combined the newer chip with 16GB memory, a practical baseline for heavier multitasking.
- The approximately 15% discount was smaller in dollars than the clearance reductions on older models, but avoided buying a laptop several generations behind.
Cheaper M3 and M1 alternatives
B&H Photo reported a 13-inch M3 MacBook Air at $829 against a $1,079 reference price, and a 13-inch M1 MacBook Air at $699 against $999. Those offers saved more dollars, but the M4’s newer performance and longer expected software-support runway made it the safer choice for a primary computer. Buyers considering an older model should verify the exact memory, storage, warranty and return terms because clearance configurations can vary.

AirPods 4 with ANC reached $148.99
MacRumors reported AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation at $148.99 on Amazon, calling it an all-time low in that report. The reference price was $179, a $30 reduction.
This was the ANC version—not the standard AirPods 4. Noise cancellation, transparency features and the charging-case specification differ, so compare the product title and model details before checkout.

Which iPad was the best Memorial Day deal?
The right value depended on workload rather than the largest absolute discount. Amazon’s reported prices covered an entry model, a performance-oriented Air and a professional model.
| Model | Best fit | Reported price | Saving |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11-inch iPad, A16, 128GB Wi-Fi | Everyday browsing, streaming, schoolwork and light apps | $299 | $50 off $349 |
| 11-inch iPad Air, M3, 128GB Wi-Fi | More demanding apps, creative work and longer-term performance | $529 | $70 off $599 |
| 11-inch iPad Pro, M4, 256GB Wi-Fi | Professional workloads and buyers prioritizing the Pro display and features | $899 | $100 off $999 |
Best budget choice: 11-inch A16 iPad
At a reported $299, the 128GB Wi-Fi iPad was the lowest-cost route into the current entry-level lineup. It made the most sense when the tablet would mainly handle web, video, notes and general apps.

Best balance: 11-inch M3 iPad Air
The reported $529 price put the M3 iPad Air $70 below its $599 reference price. Its M3 chip provided more headroom than the A16 model for demanding multitasking, drawing and productivity without reaching Pro pricing.

Best high-end option: 11-inch M4 iPad Pro
The 256GB Wi-Fi M4 iPad Pro was reported at $899, down $100 from $999. The premium was easier to justify for professional software, sustained workloads or buyers specifically seeking Pro-level display and hardware features; it was unnecessary for basic tablet use.

How to evaluate a historical Apple deal
- Match the exact configuration. Confirm chip, screen size, memory, storage and Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity.
- Calculate the real reduction. Compare the sale price with the stated reference price and distinguish a one-time promotion from a recurring price.
- Compare generations. For MacBooks, weigh M4 support and performance against lower-priced M3 or M1 clearance units. For iPads, match A16, M3 and M4 performance to the workload.
- Check the retailer terms. Review seller identity, warranty coverage, return window, condition and whether the item is new, refurbished or open-box.
- Verify connectivity and accessories. GPS is not GPS + Cellular, and Wi-Fi tablets do not include cellular service. Confirm that the AirPods listing is the ANC model if that feature matters.
