Dedicated deal pages now mark the MacBook Pro, iPhone 16 Pro, iPad Air and Mac mini promotions expired. Apple’s current store has moved to M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models and M4 iPad Air models, so an older device is sensible only when its total price is substantially below a comparable current-generation product.
Use the figures below as documented reference prices—not promises of availability—and recheck the retailer, condition, warranty and return terms before paying.

M4 Pro MacBook Pro: when the old generation can still make sense
The headline configuration was a 14-inch MacBook Pro with M4 Pro, 48GB unified memory and a 1TB SSD for $2,299 instead of $2,599—a $300 reduction through B&H Photo, described as an authorized-retailer configuration. The specific promotion is marked expired at 9to5Toys.

Apple’s current store presents M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models, making the M4 Pro a previous-generation purchase (Apple Store). Buy it only if the live price is clearly below an equivalent M5 Pro model and you value the savings more than newer-generation features and remaining product life.
Who benefits from 48GB
- Software development with large codebases, virtual machines or containers.
- Professional video, 3D, local AI tools and sustained multitasking.
- Workflows that routinely exceed the practical comfort of 16GB or 24GB.
For web, office, school, streaming and light photo editing, 48GB is usually unnecessary. A current MacBook Air or base MacBook Pro can be better value.

14-inch versus 16-inch
The 14-inch model favors portability. The 16-inch model costs more but provides a larger workspace, bigger battery and more thermal headroom. Do not pay the 16-inch premium solely for occasional browsing; choose it when the display and sustained workload materially improve your workday.

Amazon described Renewed Premium products as inspected and tested by qualified suppliers, generally with at least 80% battery capacity and replacement or refund eligibility within 90 days. Generic accessories and non-original packaging were possible. These terms do not equal Apple certification or a guaranteed new battery.
Inspection checklist before keeping a renewed phone
- Confirm the listing says unlocked and check the exact U.S. model or regional variant.
- Record the seller, return deadline and warranty; check Apple warranty status and AppleCare eligibility.
- Verify Battery Health, Face ID, cameras, speakers, microphones, buttons, charging and cellular connectivity.
- Make sure Activation Lock is removed and the IMEI is clean and compatible with your carrier.
- Check that storage, color and included accessories match the listing; return it promptly if they do not.
The iPhone 16 Pro is now a previous-generation model. Compare its effective renewed price with a new current iPhone, trade-in value and carrier financing. Apple advertises carrier credits of up to $800–$1,100, but eligibility, trade-in condition, financing and plan requirements determine the actual value (Apple Store). A renewed 16 Pro is compelling when the discount is substantial and its Pro camera and display matter more than maximum support longevity.

- Cellular: useful for frequent travel, but add recurring service charges.
- Storage: choose enough for offline media and projects; do not buy 1TB solely to claim a larger percentage discount.

Quick Recap
How to evaluate any live Apple listing
- Identify condition: new, open-box, clearance, manufacturer refurbished, retailer refurbished or Amazon Renewed Premium.
- Check the exact configuration: chip, memory, storage, size, connectivity, color and model number.
- Verify seller and warranty: confirm who ships and sells it, the return window, Apple warranty and AppleCare eligibility.
- Calculate ownership cost: include tax, shipping, accessories, displays, cellular service, AppleCare and required trade-in or plan commitments.
- Compare generations: use Apple’s current MacBook Pro page (MacBook Pro), iPad Air page (iPad Air) and iPhone store (iPhone) as the baseline.
- Recheck immediately: retailer prices, inventory and seller terms can change after publication.
Bottom line for 2026 buyers
- Best performance bargain: an M4 Pro MacBook Pro only when it is substantially cheaper than comparable M5 Pro hardware and you need sustained professional performance.
- Best refurbished opportunity: an unlocked iPhone 16 Pro with documented battery health, a reputable seller and a long return window.
- Best tablet value: older iPad Air clearance for ordinary productivity when Wi-Fi and moderate storage meet your needs.
- Best choice for many shoppers: buy the current M5 MacBook Pro or M4 iPad Air when the generation gap is small, or wait for a clearly discounted older unit rather than paying near launch pricing.
