Ben Foster Filed for Divorce From Laura Prepon: What’s Known About the Settlement and Her Net Worth

Ben Foster filed for divorce from Laura Prepon in Tennessee in 2024, and later reporting said the couple settled in April 2025. The available reports do not verify that Prepon has a $12 million net worth or that $12 million was at risk in the divorce. Reported monthly income figures are not net-worth valuations.

What happened in the divorce?

The Los Angeles Times reported that Foster filed for divorce in Tennessee in September 2024, citing irreconcilable differences and seeking enforcement of a 2018 prenuptial agreement. Those were claims and requests in the filing, not independent findings by a court. The paper also reported that the original complaint gave the wrong separation year; Prepon’s representative described it as a typographical error, and the correct date was September 9, 2024. Foster’s attorney filed an amended complaint, according to the Times. Los Angeles Times, November 13, 2024, updated November 15.

In April 2025, Us Weekly reported that the couple reached a settlement and agreed to uphold the prenup. The outlet said the reported terms included each keeping individually held assets and their respective businesses, waiving spousal support, and agreeing on child support and parenting arrangements. This account is based on the outlet’s reporting about documents it obtained; the full settlement agreement and Tennessee docket were not independently reviewed here. Us Weekly, April 18, 2025.

Does the divorce put Prepon’s $12 million net worth at risk?

The reviewed reporting does not substantiate a $12 million net-worth estimate for Prepon, nor does it establish that this amount was at risk in the divorce. Us Weekly reported gross monthly income figures from settlement documents—$22,205.50 for Prepon and $70,509.92 for Foster—but those figures describe reported income, not the value of either person’s assets or net worth. They do not confirm a $12 million valuation. Us Weekly, April 18, 2025.

A net-worth estimate is not interchangeable with income: it concerns assets and liabilities, while a monthly income figure is a flow of money over a period. The reports reviewed do not establish either person’s complete financial position or provide an authoritative valuation of Prepon’s wealth.
