When did Behaviour Interactive acquire SockMonkey Studios?
Behaviour announced the acquisition on 23 February 2023. Its announcement described SockMonkey as an external developer in the United Kingdom and called the deal Behaviour’s first European investment. The announcement did not disclose a purchase price or detailed transaction structure. Behaviour Interactive’s announcement is the source for the transaction description and date.
Why did Behaviour Interactive buy SockMonkey Studios?
Behaviour said the acquisition would expand its Services division’s development capacity in the UK. Behaviour CEO and Executive Producer Rémi Racine said, “We’re delighted to add SockMonkey’s award-winning team to our industry-leading Services division,” while SockMonkey co-founder and CEO Bob Makin said, “We’re thrilled to celebrate our tenth anniversary year by joining Behaviour’s growing group of studios,” according to the announcement.
