The female-led startup aimed to make it easier for customers to find salons, compare services and reviews, and book appointments.
What BeautyHooked did
BeautyHooked connected customers with salons and spas through a digital directory and marketplace. Contemporary coverage described customers using it to discover businesses, browse their services and reviews, and arrange appointments. The Express Tribune’s 2016 report framed the problem as the difficulty of finding a salon, comparing its services and arranging a visit.
The reported $280,000 funding round
Dawn reported on August 18, 2016, that BeautyHooked had raised $280,000 in seed funding, with Fatima Ventures leading the round. TechJuice’s report, dated August 17, 2016, also covered the announcement. A later University of Management and Technology recap appeared in February 2017; it describes the earlier round and is not the funding date.
The announcement does not establish the startup’s customer count, revenue, market size or how the funds were allocated. The $280,000 figure is the reported amount of this round, not evidence of the company’s subsequent financial performance.

Who founded and led the startup
Contemporary reporting named Sahr Said as CEO, Abdullah Ahmed as CTO and Sidra Talha as head of operations. TechJuice and the UMT recap identified Said and Talha as co-founders. UMT described Said as a Cornell graduate and Talha as a University of Management and Technology alumna. The university’s February 2017 recap is the source for those biographical details.
How BeautyHooked proposed to make money
The Express Tribune reported that the company hoped to charge salons or beauty entrepreneurs either a monthly fee or a percentage of bookings. That was a proposed business model, not verified evidence that BeautyHooked generated revenue, adopted particular prices or consistently used either fee structure.

Expansion plans and what the reports establish
At the time of the funding announcement, BeautyHooked described ambitions to expand within Pakistan and pursue international opportunities. Dawn quoted CEO Sahr Said: “We plan on rolling out nationally and are in late-stage talks with various international players to franchise our technology and brand to other countries.” This records the company’s plans and discussions at the time; it does not confirm a completed national rollout or franchise deal.
Contemporaneous coverage also referred to a Qatar expansion arrangement. A Punjab Information Technology Board item from October 2017 quotes Chairman Dr Umar Saif calling it “very encouraging to see female entrepreneurs doing so well in Pakistan.” The available reports do not establish whether the Qatar expansion launched, what its terms were, or what happened to BeautyHooked afterward. They also do not establish whether the company or platform operates today.
