What Bayer announced
In a May 4, 2023 statement, Bayer said it would combine elements of its U.S. Regional and Channel seed brands under an enhanced Channel brand. The company described the approach as serving growers who prefer to purchase through a seed professional. Bayer said the consolidation would strengthen dealer relationships and allow further investment in agronomic support and products; that is Bayer’s stated rationale, not an independently measured outcome. The plan concerned Bayer’s U.S. seed-brand structure, not every Bayer seed brand or the company’s entire Crop Science business.
Which regional seed brands were named?
Successful Farming reported that the following names would be phased out after the 2024 growing season:

Bayer’s statement refers more broadly to its “Regional” brands; the detailed names above come from Successful Farming’s report. That report’s opening refers to ten brands, but its named list contains nine. The sources do not resolve the mismatch, so the list should not be treated as a confirmed complete count.

Were DEKALB and Asgrow included?
No. Bayer explicitly said DEKALB and Asgrow were not impacted by the change. The announcement was limited to the Regional and Channel brand evolution described above.
How was buying and local support supposed to work?
Bayer framed Channel for growers who prefer buying through a seed professional. It said local agronomic support would continue through trusted Seedsmen and regional dealers under the Channel brand. That describes the intended dealer-centered model and support continuity; it does not establish a specific dealer’s current inventory, prices, ordering process, or service terms.

What do later Bayer materials establish about availability?
Bayer’s 2025 Technology Use Guide lists Channel alongside Fontanelle, Gold Country, Hubner, Jung, Kruger, Lewis, Specialty, Stewart, and Stone among seed-brand offerings for Acceleron seed-applied solutions. That listing is not proof that each legacy name remained a standalone seed brand or that a hybrid under each name was available.
In June 2026, Bayer described Kacy Perry as having led the evolution and execution of its U.S. Channel Seed Professional Strategy. This indicates Bayer continued to characterize the strategy as executed, but it is not a complete current product inventory or dealer map. To confirm a particular hybrid’s current availability, contact a local seed professional or consult current Bayer Channel materials.
