His case for a “true platform” is that connected tools could reduce the work MSPs spend stitching products together, leaving more attention for customer security outcomes. That is Barracuda’s strategy and Ghai’s argument, not an independently measured result.
What Ghai means by a “true platform”
Ghai draws a distinction between a platform and a group of separate products sold under one commercial umbrella. In his account, a platform should connect security capabilities and share context so operators can work across them, rather than manage each as an isolated tool.
For MSPs, the intended benefit is operational: less effort configuring and integrating separate products, and more time to focus on customer security. Ghai put the trade-off this way: “MSPs have a choice. They can go to best-of-breed solutions, but then they have to stitch those together—and then they’re not focused on security outcomes.”
A later September 2026 interview offered more context for his position: Ghai also described tool and agent sprawl and argued that meaningful platform integration should extend to the data layer. Those are his views on what integration should mean, not independent verification of Barracuda’s implementation.
#1 Best Overall
Who Barracuda says it is building for
Ghai describes Barracuda’s target as organizations that lack extensive security expertise or large security teams. That includes small businesses, but he says the focus is not limited to that category. The strategy is aimed at customers that may need outside help to operate security capabilities, which helps explain the emphasis on MSPs.
The interview provides no customer-outcome data or comparative testing to establish how well the platform serves those organizations. It also does not give pricing or a complete inventory of integrations, so buyers and service providers cannot use the interview alone to assess cost or technical fit.
What BarracudaOne is intended to bring together
Ghai describes Barracuda’s portfolio as spanning email, network, data, applications, and managed extended detection and response (XDR). BarracudaOne is intended to bring solutions together for easier configuration and management. The proposition is breadth combined with simpler operations, rather than breadth alone.
Rank #2
The interview does not independently measure integration depth, demonstrate cross-product workflows, or report security efficacy. A shared interface or portfolio description, by itself, does not establish how much context or functionality products actually share. Organizations evaluating the approach would need to verify the workflows and administration capabilities relevant to their own environments.
Why MSPs are a growth priority
Ghai says Barracuda is increasing investment in MSPs because customers in its target segment are more inclined to consume cybersecurity as a managed service. He calls MSPs the company’s “fastest-growing segment,” but gives no growth percentage, measurement period, or underlying source; it should be understood as his characterization, not a quantified industry statistic.
He describes the channel stance as “we’re not just partner-first, but partner-only.” In context, that is his description of Barracuda’s partner orientation. The interview does not specify how that phrase maps to sales-channel rules or whether every product and transaction follows the same model.
PSA integrations Ghai named
The interview discusses integrations intended to help MSPs with professional services automation (PSA) and ticketing challenges. Ghai names Datto, ConnectWise, and HaloPSA. The article’s opening refers to six PSA offerings, but the quoted examples identify only those three, so the other names cannot be established from the interview.
For an MSP, the useful follow-up is whether the particular integration supports the required ticket flow and customer-management process. The interview names examples but does not detail capabilities, setup requirements, or integration depth.

Conversational assistance
Ghai describes the BarracudaOne assistant as a conversational interface for threat intelligence and interaction with the system. The interview does not specify its full feature set, availability by product or plan, or how its responses and actions are governed.
Rank #4
Agentic incident remediation
Ghai presents agentic incident remediation as the next phase of development, not as a generally available capability. The interview does not establish what actions such systems would take, what human approval would be required, or how remediation would be controlled. MSPs assessing future automation should treat those operational details as unresolved in this account.

Ghai says Barracuda is planning a partner-program transformation for FY27, including a portal, on-demand training, enablement, and incentives for partners who help sell across the platform. These are plans described in the interview, not settled public enrollment or compensation terms.
The interview states no commission, referral arrangement, affiliate terms, or signup process. Partners considering commercial participation need current terms directly from Barracuda rather than inferring them from the planned program changes.
How to read Barracuda’s platform claim
Ghai says, “So the platformization play, for our customers, is being received very well. It’s resonating in the marketplace.” That is his assessment; the interview does not provide customer survey results or market data to quantify reception.
The interview is useful for understanding Barracuda’s intended direction: broad security coverage, simpler management through BarracudaOne, and greater reliance on MSPs to serve resource-constrained organizations. It does not establish that the integrations reduce MSP workload or improve security outcomes in practice. Those are the claims an MSP or buyer would need to test against actual workflows, product coverage, and commercial terms.
