Barnes is no longer a Norwich player: the FA transaction record lists his Norwich contract as cancelled and a new Burnley registration in the 2024/25 transaction data. For 2026/27, two salary-estimate sites put four different Norwich players level at an estimated £30,000 a week; SalaryLeaks places Anthony Musaba next at £27,000.
Norwich City’s five highest-paid players in 2026/27
The figures below are estimates, not a disclosed Norwich payroll. SalaryLeaks’s 2026/27 table, last updated September 23, 2026, lists four players level at £30,000 per week, followed by Musaba at £27,000 per week. Capology’s 2026/27 page also estimates £30,000 a week for the same four players, but its accessible ranking did not establish a fifth-place figure.
| Player | Estimated weekly salary | What the estimate shows |
|---|---|---|
| Andre Brooks | £30,000 | Tied estimate; also listed at this amount by Capology. |
| Kenny McLean | £30,000 | Tied estimate; also listed at this amount by Capology. |
| Mathias Kvistgaarden | £30,000 | Tied estimate; also listed at this amount by Capology. |
| Jack Stacey | £30,000 | Tied estimate; also listed at this amount by Capology. |
| Anthony Musaba | £27,000 | SalaryLeaks’s next-highest estimate; Capology’s fifth-place figure is not established here. |
The four £30,000 entries are a tie, not a reliable first-to-fourth ranking. The names and amounts are estimates reported by SalaryLeaks and, for the four tied players, independently by Capology.
Did Ashley Barnes earn £30,000 a week at Norwich?
The available evidence does not confirm that historic figure. The FA transaction record lists “Ashley Barnes Contract Cancelled” under Norwich City and a Burnley new registration in its 2024/25 transaction data. That supports his departure from Norwich; it does not disclose what Norwich paid him or when his pay changed.

As a result, the £30,000 figure in the headline should be treated as an unverified historic claim, not as an established Norwich salary. Current 2026/27 estimates for other players cannot be used to infer Barnes’s former wage.
Why published salary estimates differ from confirmed pay
Neither club payroll records nor the cited sources establish these individual weekly amounts as confirmed salaries. SalaryLeaks says comprehensive Championship salary data is rarely published and that many figures are informed estimates drawing on reporting and club wage-bill information. Capology describes its figures as estimated gross fixed salaries; it says estimates for some unverified players use algorithms based on personnel costs in official financial statements and/or UEFA publications. Its fixed-salary figures exclude bonuses, image rights, commercial deals and other benefits.

Norwich’s 2025 annual report discusses conditional future payments under transfer and player contracts and conditional signing-on fees, but the cited passage does not name players or disclose weekly wages. Aggregate accounts therefore do not verify these individual estimates.

SalaryLeaks’s separate 2025/26 page estimated Norwich’s squad salaries at £23.9 million and listed Shane Duffy and Jack Stacey at £35,000 a week, with Mathias Kvistgaarden at £27,000. Those are estimates for a different season and should not be presented as the 2026/27 ranking or as evidence of a player’s current contract. When comparing salary tables, check the season, whether the amount covers fixed pay or additional benefits, and whether identical figures represent a tie.
