It also described a CVS refill rule for maintenance prescriptions. These are historical terms from an agreement that ran through December 31, 2023—not confirmed 2026 benefits.
What agreement did these prescription terms come from?
The terms appeared in ATU Local 241’s summary of a tentative CTA/ATU collective bargaining agreement covering January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2023. The union summary says the listed prescription copays took effect January 1, 2023. Read the ATU Local 241 agreement summary.
The figures below are specifically identified as PPO-2 copays. The agreement summary does not establish that the same amounts applied to every plan option, and they should not be treated as current coverage terms.
What were the PPO-2 prescription copays?
| Prescription tier | Copay in the summary | Effective date |
|---|---|---|
| Generic | $10 | January 1, 2023 |
| Brand formulary | $20 | January 1, 2023 |
| Non-formulary | $40 | January 1, 2023 |
These are the amounts stated in the union’s summary for PPO-2. They are not a current price list or a statement that every covered employee had identical out-of-pocket costs.

How did the maintenance-prescription refill rule work?
For maintenance medications, the summary allowed the first two prescriptions to be filled at any network pharmacy. It said the third and later refills had to go through CVS to obtain a 90-day supply. The summary also described mail order as providing a 90-day supply for the cost of 60 days. The union summary contains the refill and mail-order language.
The summary does not establish whether the CVS requirement or mail-order arrangement remains in effect after the agreement’s stated term. Employees checking a current prescription should confirm the applicable pharmacy network and refill rules with CTA benefits or the plan administrator before filling it.
