The deadline to claim money from the AT&T data breach settlement was December 18, 2025, and it has passed. The settlement covers two separate incidents, so being an AT&T customer alone did not establish eligibility. The settlement website reported that final approval was granted on October 2, 2026, but the official materials reviewed do not state when payments will be sent.
Who qualified for the AT&T settlement?
The settlement created two classes tied to different incidents. A person could qualify for one class or both, depending on whether their data was involved in the particular incident.
AT&T 1: incident announced March 30, 2024
This class covered living people in the United States whose data elements were included in the incident. The elements could include a name, address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, account passcode, billing account number, or Social Security number. The settlement description and class terms are available on the official settlement website.
AT&T 2: incident announced July 12, 2024
This class covered AT&T account owners or line and end users whose data elements were involved in the second incident. Those elements included telephone numbers of current and former AT&T customers, numbers they interacted with, counts of interactions, and aggregate call duration by day or month. For a small subset, cell-site identification numbers were also involved. See the settlement class information for the terms.

How much could an eligible claimant receive?
The settlement offered documented-loss benefits or, for eligible class members, an alternative tier payment. Neither the maximum documented-loss caps nor the fund totals indicate what an individual claimant will receive.
| Class and option | Settlement terms |
|---|---|
| AT&T 1 documented losses | Up to $5,000 for documented losses from 2019 or later that are fairly traceable to the AT&T 1 incident. |
| AT&T 1 tier payment | A pro-rata share of the net fund. Members whose Social Security number was included qualify for tier 1, which is five times tier 2. |
| AT&T 2 documented losses | Up to $2,500 for documented losses on or after April 14, 2024 that are fairly traceable to the AT&T 2 incident. |
| AT&T 2 tier payment | Account owners could alternatively claim a pro-rata tier 3 payment from the net fund. |
Documented-loss claims require supporting evidence linking the loss to the relevant incident. Tier payments are calculated pro rata, so their value depends on valid claims and the amount left after applicable costs and deductions. For a person who filed in time, the relevant class, available loss documentation, applicable tier option, and possible membership in both classes determine which settlement benefits may apply.

These are fund amounts, not individual award estimates. The agreements are listed in the official case documents.
