Important update: The AT&T Data Incident Settlement’s claim deadline was December 18, 2025. The official settlement website now says claim forms are no longer available and marks the online form “Deadline Passed.” As of August 8, 2026, the proposed settlement has not yet received final approval, and there is no confirmed payout date.

People who submitted a timely claim should keep their contact information current and monitor telecomdatasettlement.com, the official settlement website. New claims cannot currently be filed through that site.

What the AT&T data breach settlement covers

The proposed settlement is worth $177 million and combines two separate AT&T data incidents:

Incident Announced Data involved Settlement fund
AT&T 1 March 30, 2024 Potentially names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, account passcodes, billing account numbers and Social Security numbers $149 million
AT&T 2 July 12, 2024 Primarily telephone numbers, numbers contacted, interaction counts, aggregate call durations and, for a small subset, cell-site identification numbers $28 million

The settlement website and court documents define separate classes for the two incidents. A person could potentially have qualified under both, but each claim had its own eligibility and documentation rules.

Who was eligible for an AT&T 1 payment?

You generally qualified for the AT&T 1 class if you were a living person in the United States and your covered data was included in the incident announced on March 30, 2024.

There were two payment tiers:

  • Tier 1: Your Social Security number was included. The proposed Tier 1 payment was designed to be five times the Tier 2 payment.
  • Tier 2: Your covered information was included, but your Social Security number was not.

Being part of the class did not guarantee a fixed payment. Tier payments were to be calculated pro rata from the remaining AT&T 1 fund after approved expenses and other deductions.

Who was eligible for an AT&T 2 payment?

The AT&T 2 class generally included an AT&T account owner, line user or end user whose covered information was involved in the incident announced on July 12, 2024. Customers of mobile virtual network operators using AT&T’s network could potentially qualify as line or end users.

The proposed payment options worked differently depending on the person’s role:

  • Easy to Use: just continuous roll the address blocker roller stamp to conceal information, and roll on a second layer for maximum protection, works on paper, envelopes, folders, address labels, etc., please note that may not work on smooth surfaces
  • How to Refill the Ink: there are 4 pieces of ID stamp refills, each is about 1.5 ml, you just need to unscrew the cap of the ink bottle (not disposable, you can close the cap for next time of use), then insert it into the hole on the side of the stamp, then turn it upside down, about 5 minutes later, the most of the ink will be replenished to the security roller stamp
  • Account owners could potentially claim the AT&T 2 Tier 3 payment or seek reimbursement for documented losses.
  • Line users and end users could potentially seek reimbursement for documented losses, but they could not claim the account-owner Tier 3 payment.

For an account with multiple lines, the account owner could claim for themselves and, where applicable, on behalf of line or end users. Two people could not both receive reimbursement for the same line’s documented loss. If both an account owner and a line or end user filed for that same line, the line or end user’s claim took precedence.

How much was the AT&T payout?

The advertised figures were maximums or formulas, not guaranteed checks.

Option Potential amount or calculation Who it applied to
AT&T 1 documented-loss payment Up to $5,000 Eligible claimants with qualifying losses from 2019 onward
AT&T 1 Tier 1 Pro rata share; designed to be five times Tier 2 People whose Social Security numbers were included
AT&T 1 Tier 2 Pro rata share People whose covered data was included without the Social Security number
AT&T 2 documented-loss payment Up to $2,500 Eligible claimants with qualifying losses on or after April 14, 2024
AT&T 2 Tier 3 Pro rata share Eligible AT&T account owners

The frequently repeated “up to $7,500” amount is not an automatic settlement payment. It combines the separate $5,000 AT&T 1 and $2,500 AT&T 2 documented-loss maximums. A person with losses connected to both incidents could potentially claim under both options, but the losses and supporting records had to be separate and unique.

The eventual pro rata amounts depend on the number of valid claims, administration costs, court-approved attorneys’ fees and costs, service awards, taxes and approved documented-loss payments. No official payout estimate is available.

What counted as a documented loss?

A documented-loss claim had to satisfy more than a claimant’s statement that the breach caused financial harm. The loss had to be fairly traceable to the applicable AT&T incident, and the claimant had to choose that payment option on the Claim Form and attest under penalty of perjury that the loss occurred.

Supporting records were required. Receipts or other documents not prepared solely by the claimant could qualify. A claimant’s handwritten receipt, personal accounting, statement, declaration or affidavit was not sufficient by itself, although it could help explain other documentation.

For AT&T 1, qualifying losses had to occur in 2019 or later. For AT&T 2, the stated loss period began April 14, 2024.

How claims were filed before the deadline

The filing window is closed, but the prior process explains what existing claimants should expect and helps distinguish the legitimate settlement from unofficial “payout” pages.

  4. Submit the form online, or mail it to:

That process is no longer available for a new claim. The official Submit Claim link now opens the Kroll form with the message “Deadline Passed.” Do not pay a third party to submit a late claim or provide banking information to a website that is not the official settlement administrator.

What if you already filed a claim?

There is currently no confirmed distribution date. According to the official settlement update, payments cannot begin until:

  1. The court approves the settlement;
  2. Any appeals are finished; and
  3. The administrator completes its review of all Claim Forms.

The final-approval hearing took place on January 15, 2026, but the settlement administrator’s current update says the court is still considering whether to approve the settlement. Claimants should not assume that checks are being mailed or that a payout amount has been finalized.

For an address change or a question about an existing claim, use the Contact Us option at the official website, call (833) 890-4930, or write to the settlement administrator at the address above. The official FAQ says settlement-related emails were sent from [email protected]. If an email seems suspicious, call the administrator rather than clicking its links.

How to resend a lost Class Member ID

The official site still displays a Resend Class Member ID option. The form asks for your:

  • Full name;
  • Email address;
  • Account number; and
  • Phone number.

The information must match the administrator’s records. If it does, the Class Member ID is sent to the email address associated with the AT&T account. Recovering an ID does not reopen the claim period.

Common mistakes about the AT&T settlement

Claim What the official information says
“Claims are still open.” No. The deadline was December 18, 2025, and the claim form says “Deadline Passed.”
“Everyone affected gets $5,000 or $7,500.” No. Those are documented-loss maximums. Tier payments are pro rata and unknown.
“Checks are already being mailed.” The official site does not support that. Final approval and other steps remain outstanding.
“Only people whose Social Security numbers were exposed qualify.” No. AT&T 1 Tier 2 covers other listed data, while AT&T 2 primarily concerns call-record-related information.
“The breach happened in 2019.” The AT&T 1 incident was announced in 2024. The 2019 date refers to the beginning of the documented-loss period.

FAQ

Can I still file an AT&T data breach claim?

No. The official settlement website says the claim deadline was December 18, 2025, and the claim form is marked “Deadline Passed.” New claims cannot currently be filed through the official site.

How much will eligible AT&T claimants receive?

No final amount has been announced. Tier payments are pro rata, and documented-loss payments were capped at up to $5,000 for AT&T 1 and up to $2,500 for AT&T 2, subject to eligibility and documentation. Those caps were not guaranteed payments.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

When will AT&T settlement payments be sent?

There is no confirmed payout date. The court must approve the settlement, any appeals must end and the administrator must finish reviewing claims before distribution can begin.

How can I check an existing AT&T settlement claim?

Visit telecomdatasettlement.com and use Contact Us, call the administrator at (833) 890-4930, or write to AT&T Data Incident Settlement, c/o Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, P.O. Box 5324, New York, NY 10150-5324.

The Bottom Line

The AT&T settlement is not currently accepting new claims. People who filed by December 18, 2025 may eventually receive a pro rata tier payment or an approved documented-loss payment, but the proposed settlement is still awaiting final approval and no payout date or final amount is available. Use only telecomdatasettlement.com and the administrator’s listed contact details for updates.
