The announcement is about specific layers—not all Intel 18A production—and the companies did not publish a High-NA-specific yield, throughput, cost or volume figure.
What ASML announced
In its July 15, 2026 Q2 results presentation, ASML described a “new readiness milestone” for High-NA EUV tied to the first high-volume logic product. ASML said Intel Foundry had entered high-volume manufacturing for a subset of Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, code-named Panther Lake, using ASML EXE High-NA EUV technology. The presentation says specific Intel 18A layers in Oregon are dual-qualified on High-NA EUV and that products are shipping to customers at yields matched to the NXE platform. What “qualified” means—and what it does not
The milestone is qualification of a High-NA EUV process option on select product layers within Intel 18A. It does not establish that every 18A layer, every Panther Lake component or all Intel products use High-NA EUV. Nor does it mean High-NA has replaced conventional EUV across Intel manufacturing. Intel’s statement describes the companies as developing future options for upcoming nodes, consistent with continued development rather than a universal transition.
Intel Foundry executive Naga Chandrasekaran said the existing tool fleet was providing customers with “increased output” as the process option was qualified. That is a qualitative statement in ASML’s presentation, not a reported percentage or a quantified improvement attributable specifically to High-NA. The presentation does not separate High-NA’s contribution from other manufacturing factors.

How High-NA EUV fits the technology roadmap
High-NA EUV refers to extreme ultraviolet lithography systems with a numerical aperture of 0.55, compared with 0.33 for conventional EUV. Numerical aperture is an optical-system measure; it is not itself a chip feature size. ASML’s 2024 annual report said its TWINSCAN EXE:5000 system would provide 8 nm resolution for advanced logic and memory. The report also described the EXE platform as enabling some patterns to be made with single rather than multiple patterning, potentially reducing process complexity. ASML 2024 Annual Report.
The same annual report recounted an April 2024 demonstration of 10 nm dense lines. ASML said the image was produced after coarse calibration of the system’s optics, sensors and stages, and cautioned that the system was functioning but not yet at full performance in a high-volume manufacturing environment. That early demonstration, the stated 8 nm resolution and the 0.55 numerical aperture describe different properties or stages of development; none is a direct measure of commercial yield.

How the 2026 milestone compares with ASML’s earlier forecast
ASML’s 2024 annual report expected the EXE platform to start supporting high-volume manufacturing in 2026 and noted purchase orders for EXE:5200B systems. That was the company’s forecast when the report was published. The July 2026 presentation is a later company-reported readiness development in the context of a high-volume logic product; it should not be read as proof that High-NA is deployed universally or that every planned system has reached production.
A separate High-NA project in New York is not the Intel qualification. NY Creates said components for an ASML High-NA EUV system had begun arriving at Albany NanoTech and anticipated that the system would support research and development activities in early 2027 after installation. That is a research installation and a stated expectation, distinct from Intel’s Oregon production context. NY Creates.

What the announcement does not quantify
The presentation characterizes the product as shipping at yields matched to the NXE platform, but it gives no numerical yield, cost, throughput or volume comparison for Intel’s High-NA-qualified layers. It therefore supports a milestone in process qualification and manufacturing integration, not a calculation of how much High-NA improved production or what it means for Intel’s costs or revenue. ASML’s overall quarterly sales and outlook are company-wide figures and do not isolate the commercial effect of this qualification.
