Later reports describe different operating arrangements, including a Larnaca technical stop on outbound flights in March 2026, while schedule listings show an A330-200 on some 2026 dates. The aircraft, stops and schedule are date-specific; check the details for your itinerary with Arkia.
What Arkia announced for the original launch
AeroRoutes reported on January 14, 2025, that Arkia planned to start Tel Aviv (TLV)–New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) service on February 8, 2025, at three flights per week. The report described a nonstop launch schedule using an Airbus A330-900neo operated by Spanish airline Iberojet. That aircraft should not be described as part of Arkia’s owned fleet. AeroRoutes’ launch schedule report gives the planned frequency and weekday-specific timetable; the departures varied by day, so there was no single launch departure time that applied to every flight.
How the later route operation differed
March 2026: an outbound technical stop
A March 12, 2026 report by IAS described Arkia returning to the route under different conditions. It said seats were initially allocated to company customers, with the outbound flight making a short technical stop in Larnaca, Cyprus, and the return flight operating direct. A technical stop is not the same as a scheduled passenger connection: the report described a stop during the outbound journey, not a transfer to another flight. The report does not establish that these conditions apply to later dates. IAS’s March 2026 report covers that return.
Aircraft listings in 2026
Flightmapper and 2LNR schedule pages list Arkia flight IZ 991 as an Airbus A330-200 on some 2026 dates. These are schedule listings, not a guarantee of the aircraft for a future booking or proof that the same aircraft operates every flight. The 2LNR page says its schedule data was confirmed October 4, 2026; its page was updated October 7. Flightmapper’s route schedule and 2LNR’s schedule page illustrate why a 2025 aircraft announcement should not be treated as a current assignment.

How to check whether your flight is nonstop
Arkia’s route page advertises nonstop New York–Tel Aviv service and describes it as “Finally. Another way to fly non-stop from New York to Israel.” That is marketing language, not a date-by-date operating guarantee. The airline page does not establish that every itinerary is nonstop or identify the aircraft for every departure. Arkia’s New York–Tel Aviv page is a starting point, but confirm the specific itinerary before paying.
- Search Arkia for the exact travel dates and direction. Outbound and return flights may have different routing.
- Review the itinerary details for any stop, including whether it is a technical stop or a connection requiring a change of aircraft.
- Check the operating carrier and aircraft information shown for the selected flight, if available. Aircraft assignments can change.
- Before booking, verify the final schedule and conditions directly with Arkia; recheck close to departure if nonstop routing or aircraft type matters to you.
What the available schedule evidence can—and cannot—tell you
| Period or source | What it reports | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Original launch plan, February 2025 | Three flights weekly were planned; the schedule varied by weekday; an Iberojet-operated A330-900neo was specified. | That the launch frequency, timetable or aircraft remains in effect. |
| Route return report, March 2026 | Seats were initially allocated to company customers; outbound included a Larnaca technical stop and the return was direct. | That the same access, stop or routing applies to later dates. |
| Schedule listings for some 2026 dates | Arkia IZ 991 appears as an A330-200 in Flightmapper and 2LNR listings. | That every flight uses an A330-200 or that a listing guarantees the aircraft for a future trip. |
| Arkia route marketing page | Advertises nonstop New York–Tel Aviv service. | That every date or direction operates nonstop. |
How often does Arkia fly between JFK and Tel Aviv?
The three-times-weekly figure belongs to AeroRoutes’ January 2025 report on the original launch plan. It is not a verified current frequency. The available later reports and schedule pages do not establish a single current weekly frequency for all dates. Use Arkia’s booking results for your travel dates rather than relying on the 2025 schedule.
