APSC JE recruitment 2025: vacancy breakdown
The advertisement, dated 11 August 2025, listed 187 posts across four engineering disciplines. The vacancy counts below are those stated in the APSC notice.

Who was eligible to apply?
Citizenship and Assam residency
Applicants had to be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam. The notice accepted either a valid Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate as proof of residency.

Age and category relaxations
The age range was 18 to 40 years, calculated as of 1 January 2025. The notice specified five years of relaxation for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC/MOBC and Tea Tribes/Adivasi candidates, and ten years for PwBD candidates subject to the conditions listed in the advertisement. Ex-servicemen had separate provisions, so candidates in that category needed to consult the notice rather than apply the general relaxations.
Pay scale and application fees
The advertised pay scale was ₹14,000–₹70,000 per month, with grade pay of ₹8,700 in Pay Band 2, plus other allowances admissible under Assam government rules.

The notice gave these total application fees, including the processing fee:

The advertisement identifies ₹47.20 as the processing fee and says fees paid are non-refundable. It also warns that applications without the prescribed fee would be summarily rejected. Fee totals and deadlines were also reported by Scroll.in.

Application dates and form fill-up
The APSC JE form fill-up period has ended. Applications opened on 14 August 2025 and closed on 13 September 2025; the final date to pay the fee was 15 September 2025. The application process was online through the APSC recruitment portal and included One Time Registration, uploading supporting documents, payment, submitting the form, and keeping a hard copy. These are historical instructions, not an active application route.
