The application window for Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Enforcement Inspector recruitment under Advertisement 17/2024 is closed. The 2024 notice advertised 27 posts in Assam’s Transport Department; it is not evidence of a new opening in 2026. Check APSC’s current recruitment notices for any later vacancy before applying or relying on old eligibility details.
What happened to the APSC Enforcement Inspector application window?
APSC’s Advertisement 17/2024, dated 6 August 2024, invited applications for 27 Enforcement Inspector posts in the Government of Assam’s Transport Department. The notice set the application period to run from 13 August through 13 September 2024, with 15 September 2024 as the original last date to pay the fee. Scroll reported on 20 September 2024 that the application deadline had been extended to that day. The window has since closed.
Contemporaneous coverage linked applicants to the APSC recruitment portal, but that old link should not be treated as an active application route. To check whether APSC has announced another Enforcement Inspector vacancy, use its official website and look for current recruitment notices. Confirm the advertisement number, dates, eligibility, and application instructions in the new notice itself.
Who was eligible under the 2024 notice?
The following requirements applied to Advertisement 17/2024 only. They are historical criteria, not confirmed rules for any future recruitment.
#1 Best Overall
Assam residency
Applicants had to be permanent residents of Assam and provide either a Permanent Resident Certificate issued in Assam for educational purposes or an Employment Exchange Registration Certificate as proof.
Education: one of two routes
- A degree in Arts, Science, or Commerce from a university recognized by the Government of Assam; or
- HSLC and a three-year diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Government of Assam or Government of India institute, with the diploma recognized by AICTE.
Age
The notice required candidates to be 21 to 38 years old as of 1 January 2024. It listed age relaxations, including five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC/MOBC candidates, as well as separate provisions for ex-servicemen. Because the age calculation date was specific to this advertisement, these limits should not be used to assess eligibility for a later vacancy.
Rank #2
Pay scale stated in Advertisement 17/2024
APSC listed a pay scale of ₹22,000–₹97,000, Pay Band 3, with Grade Pay of ₹9,400. These are the figures in the 2024 notice, not a take-home salary estimate.
How the 2024 application process worked
Applications were submitted online through the APSC recruitment portal. The notice said age, caste, and minimum educational qualification certificates would be fetched from the candidate’s One Time Registration profile, which applicants were expected to update if additional documents were needed. It also required a Small Family Norms declaration in Form A. These instructions describe the closed 2024 process; follow the instructions in any new official notice instead.

Where to look for a new vacancy
Check APSC’s official recruitment notices for a later Enforcement Inspector advertisement. The available 2024 information does not establish whether another recruitment has since been announced, so confirm current status directly with APSC rather than relying on an archived news report, old application link, or expired deadline.
