The Assam Public Service Commission’s 2023 recruitment notice for 18 Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) posts has closed. Applications for Advt. No. 34/2023 were due by January 21, 2024; that deadline has passed, so the notice is historical, not a current opportunity to apply.
Which APSC recruitment did this notice cover?
Advertisement No. 34/2023, dated December 18, 2023, invited applications for 18 Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) posts in the joint cadre of the Public Works Roads Department (PWRD) and the Public Works (Building & National Highway) Department (PW(B&NH)D). The post count is stated in the notification copy.
This was not a general notice for every APSC Assistant Engineer opening in 2023. A separate recruitment reported 81 Assistant Engineer posts across Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical disciplines for the Public Health Engineering Department; it was a different drive. Careers360’s report covers that separate recruitment.
What were the eligibility requirements?
Education
Contemporaneous coverage said applicants needed a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a university in India or abroad recognized by the government, or the specified Part A and Part B qualification from the Associate Membership Examination of the Institution of Engineers (India), with the required certificate. That coverage also reported that distance-mode degrees were not eligible. See Scroll’s December 22, 2023 report.
