Apple’s 2025 Black Friday Shopping Event ended Monday, December 1, 2025. It was not a sitewide price sale: U.S. shoppers received an Apple Gift Card with selected purchases, with advertised values of up to $250. The promotion is no longer active.
What Apple offered
Apple called the promotion a Shopping Event rather than a conventional sale. The qualifying product generally stayed at its listed price, while Apple included a promotional gift card for a later purchase. That is different from an immediate discount. A $250 card is future Apple credit, not $250 removed from the checkout total.

- Start: Friday, November 28, 2025

- Length: Four days, covering Black Friday through Cyber Monday
- Channels: Apple Stores, Apple.com and the Apple Store app
The event ran in the United States and other countries, but eligibility, values and terms varied by market. Final-day coverage confirming the December 1 closing date appeared at 9to5Mac.

Which products qualified?
Apple limited the offer to specifically listed models and configurations. Coverage identified qualifying products across these categories:

The event announcement lists the participating product categories, but the exact model-by-model amounts belonged to Apple’s 2025 terms. Do not assume that every item in a category qualified or that the newest configuration earned the largest card.

Use this calculation only if you would genuinely make another Apple purchase:
Effective cost = purchase price − gift-card value.

The result is not a cash-equivalent saving. A card has its full face value only for someone who can use it under the applicable terms. Apple’s current Apple Store Gift Card rules say those cards can be redeemed in the United States at Apple Stores, Apple.com or by calling Apple, but not at third-party Apple resellers or for Apple Media Services: Apple’s gift-card terms. Because the 2025 promotion’s exact card type and conditions controlled, readers should not assume that every promotional card worked everywhere in Apple’s ecosystem.
Important exclusions and traps
- Not every iPhone, Mac, iPad or other Apple product was eligible.
- Some current-generation devices were excluded, as reported in comparative coverage from TechRadar.
- Country-specific terms changed the qualifying models and card amounts.
- Employee, corporate, military and veteran purchasing programs were reported as excluded; the controlling 2025 Apple terms should be used for any dispute.
- Refurbished, business, gift-card-only and carrier-connected purchases may have had separate restrictions.
- Quantity limits and inventory conditions could apply.
Apple’s retail policy also says products generally must be returned within 14 days in original condition, but that standard policy does not by itself explain what happened to a promotional card after a qualifying product was returned. A buyer should check the event terms before spending the card or treating a purchase as risk-free: Apple’s U.S. retail sales policy.

Apple versus other retailers
Apple was not automatically the cheapest place to buy. Amazon and other major retailers sometimes offered larger immediate discounts, including on products Apple excluded. A retailer discount reduces the price now; Apple’s card creates value only on a later Apple purchase.
Apple was the better fit when
- You already planned another Apple purchase.
- Apple’s price was close to the best retailer price.
- You valued Apple Store pickup, engraving, configuration choices or direct support.
- You preferred Apple’s direct trade-in or financing pathways, where separately eligible.
A retailer was likely better when
- The immediate discount exceeded Apple’s gift-card value.
- The desired model was excluded from Apple’s event.
- You wanted cash-like savings rather than future store credit.
- The retailer offered better rewards, pickup or return terms.
For any current purchase, compare the live Apple price with the retailer’s current price, seller identity, warranty and return policy. The 2025 gift-card amount is not a 2026 price signal.

Bottom line
Apple’s 2025 event ended December 1, 2025 and offered up to a $250 U.S. gift card on selected purchases—not a universal discount. Buying direct made sense only when the eligible model and Apple’s service advantages justified the price and you had a realistic plan to use the credit. Otherwise, a larger immediate retailer discount was usually the stronger personal-finance choice.
