What company results provide context for the record?
Apple reported fiscal third-quarter 2026 revenue of $109.4 billion, up 16% year over year, and diluted earnings per share of $2.02, up 29%. The quarter ended June 27, 2026. Apple also reported a 50.1% gross margin. Apple’s July 30, 2026 results release
Those results are relevant business context, but they do not establish why the share price reached its September record. Apple said tariff refunds favorably affected gross margin by approximately two percentage points and diluted EPS by $0.11 in that quarter, so those reported figures include that contribution.

In the release, CEO Tim Cook described the quarter as Apple’s “strongest June quarter ever,” citing double-digit revenue growth across iPhone, Mac, Services, and every geographic segment. CFO Kevan Parekh said the quarter set June-quarter records for EPS and operating cash flow. These are management’s descriptions of company results, not independent explanations of AAPL’s market price.
How did the broader market perform on October 7?
U.S. stocks fell that day: the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite each lost 0.2%, while the Dow fell 0.7%, according to the Associated Press. Its market recap cited higher global yields, inflation, and government-debt concerns as pressures after the S&P 500 reached a record the previous day. That index-level context does not show what caused Apple’s individual price movement. Associated Press market recap for October 7, 2026

What does the record mean for an investor?
A record price describes where a stock traded; by itself, it does not say whether the shares are attractively valued or what they will do next. Anyone assessing AAPL should distinguish the milestone from an investment decision and consider the time horizon, valuation, potential volatility, and whether they are comparing price return or total return, including dividends.
Apple identifies its shares as Nasdaq-listed under ticker AAPL and says investors can purchase them through brokerage firms. It does not sell shares directly to individual investors. Apple Investor Relations FAQ
