Announced January 29, 2026, the quarter ended December 27, 2025, and covered the holiday-selling season—not calendar-year 2026. Revenue rose 16% from $124.300 billion a year earlier, while net income reached $42.097 billion and diluted earnings per share hit a record $2.84.
The result was exceptional but concentrated: iPhone and Services set all-time revenue records, while Mac and Wearables, Home and Accessories declined. Apple’s official release and financial statements provide the underlying figures (Apple release; consolidated statements).
What Apple’s $143.8 billion headline means
Apple’s “first quarter of 2026” is a fiscal-period label. It consisted of the 13 weeks ended December 27, 2025, rather than the first three months of calendar 2026. Because it includes the holiday shopping period, it is typically Apple’s largest quarter.
The exact net-sales figure was $143.756 billion. Apple compared that with $124.300 billion in fiscal first-quarter 2025. The company described total revenue and diluted EPS as all-time records and said iPhone and Services each reached all-time revenue highs.

|---|---|---|
| Net sales | $143.756 billion | $124.300 billion |
| Net income | $42.097 billion | $36.330 billion |
| Diluted EPS | $2.84 | $2.40 |
Revenue is money received from customers; it is not profit. Net income is what remained after product and service costs, operating expenses, taxes and other items.
iPhone supplied most of the growth
iPhone revenue was $85.269 billion, up approximately 23% from $69.138 billion. Apple called it its best-ever iPhone quarter and reported growth across every geographic segment. Apple reports category revenue, not quarterly iPhone unit sales, so the figures do not establish how many phones were sold or whether unit volume increased.
iPhone represented about 59% of the quarter’s total revenue, making demand for Apple’s core product the central reason the company surpassed its previous revenue record. The available financial figures do not independently quantify how much any particular iPhone model or software feature contributed.

Services reached another record
Services revenue rose to $30.013 billion, about 21% of total sales. The category includes the App Store, advertising, cloud services, music, payment services and other digital businesses. Apple does not provide a complete revenue split for each of those businesses in this release, and Services should not be treated as entirely subscription revenue.

Mac revenue fell to $8.386 billion from $8.987 billion. Wearables, Home and Accessories declined to $11.493 billion from $11.747 billion. Those comparisons can reflect product-launch timing and prior-year comparison effects, but they demonstrate that the record was not shared evenly across every hardware category.

- Titanium frame combines strength and lightness, giving the iPhone 16 Pro a premium feel while reducing weight for prolonged daily use. The polished edges and textured back enhance grip and handling, making it easier to use during long calls, gaming sessions, or when capturing photos and videos on the move.
iPad revenue increased to $8.595 billion from $8.088 billion, a positive contribution that was much smaller than the iPhone or Services gains.
Why the quarter was highly profitable
Apple reported gross margin of $69.231 billion, or approximately 48.2% of sales. Operating expenses were $18.379 billion, producing operating income of $50.852 billion. Net income rose to $42.097 billion, and diluted EPS increased 19% to $2.84.
The product mix helps explain the result. Apple reported $113.743 billion in Products sales and $30.013 billion in Services sales. Products generated $46.265 billion of gross margin on $67.478 billion of cost of sales, while Services generated $22.966 billion of gross margin on $7.047 billion of cost of sales.

| Products | $113.743B | $46.265B | Approximately 40.7% |
| Services | $30.013B | $22.966B | Approximately 76.5% |
Those rates are calculated from Apple’s reported figures. Services supplied roughly one-fifth of revenue but about one-third of gross profit, so its growth can improve profitability disproportionately. “Higher margin” does not mean every Services activity has identical economics.
Regional performance
Apple reported the following net sales by geographic reporting segment:

- Titanium frame combines strength and lightness, giving the iPhone 16 Pro a premium feel while reducing weight for prolonged daily use. The polished edges and textured back enhance grip and handling, making it easier to use during long calls, gaming sessions, or when capturing photos and videos on the move.
| Region | Revenue |
|---|---|
| Americas | $58.529B |
| Europe | $38.146B |
| Greater China | $25.526B |
| Japan | $9.413B |
| Rest of Asia Pacific | $12.142B |
The Americas remained the largest segment. Apple’s management highlighted strong iPhone performance in Greater China, but regional revenue alone does not prove a recovery in smartphone market share, shipment rankings or overall Chinese consumer demand.
Cash generation, shareholder returns and installed base
Apple said operating cash flow was nearly $54 billion and that it returned nearly $32 billion to shareholders during the quarter. The company declared a $0.26-per-share dividend payable February 12, 2026, to shareholders of record February 9.
Apple also said its installed base exceeded 2.5 billion active devices. That is a count of active devices, not a count of unique people; one customer can own several Apple products, and the figure is not a measure of quarterly sales.
What could determine whether the pace lasts
Dependence on iPhone momentum
With iPhone near three-fifths of quarterly sales, sustained demand for new models, upgrades and premium configurations remains decisive. A single holiday quarter cannot establish a permanent change in replacement cycles.
Uneven category breadth
Mac and Wearables, Home and Accessories both declined year over year. Continued weakness there would leave Apple more reliant on iPhone and Services to produce company-wide growth.

- Titanium frame combines strength and lightness, giving the iPhone 16 Pro a premium feel while reducing weight for prolonged daily use. The polished edges and textured back enhance grip and handling, making it easier to use during long calls, gaming sessions, or when capturing photos and videos on the move.
Services growth and regulation
Services benefits from Apple’s large installed base, but its businesses have different revenue mechanics and face changing competitive and regulatory conditions. The quarter’s results do not provide a full business-by-business Services breakdown.
Supply and cost pressure
Apple warned that memory costs and supply constraints could affect margins and product availability. These factors can limit how much demand converts into shipments or reduce profitability even when sales remain strong.
China exposure
Greater China generated $25.526 billion, making it a material part of the business. Apple’s favorable iPhone commentary does not remove risks from local competition, economic conditions, currency movements or policy changes.

Management said it expected revenue for the quarter ending in March 2026 to grow approximately 13% to 16% year over year, with gross margin between 48% and 49%. Apple also said Services growth should be similar to the December quarter and warned that memory costs and supply constraints could affect results.

How investors should read the record
- Scale: $143.756 billion was Apple’s largest quarterly revenue result.
- Growth quality: iPhone delivered the largest increase, while high-margin Services added a meaningful profit contribution.
- Breadth: Mac and Wearables, Home and Accessories declined, so the result was not a synchronized surge across all products.
- Durability: Future performance depends on iPhone demand, Services expansion, supply availability, memory costs and regional execution.
