The MacBook Neo sellout story was about April 2026—not a verified account of stock today. Reports published April 16–17 said Apple delivery estimates had shifted into May and some retailer configurations or colors were unavailable. As of October 8, 2026, current prices, sellers, delivery dates, pickup options, and color-specific stock are not established here. Check live listings before deciding where to buy.
What the April sellout reports said
HotHardware reported on April 17, 2026, that estimated delivery from Apple for the 256GB and 512GB MacBook Neo had moved to May 4–11. It also listed contemporaneous prices at Apple and several retailers. 9to5Mac had reported the day before that Apple’s April inventory was sold through, while some Apple Store pickup availability appeared intermittently. These are dated observations, not current stock information. HotHardware’s April 17 report and 9to5Mac’s April 16 report provide the historical context.
Prices reported at the time
HotHardware listed Apple standard prices of $599 for the 256GB model and $699 for 512GB, and education prices of $499 and $599, respectively. Its retailer figures were Amazon at $589.99/$689.99, Best Buy at $599/$699, Target at $599.99/$699.99, and Walmart at $599/$699, in 256GB/512GB order. Some configurations or colors were marked out of stock. Every figure in this paragraph is from the April 17 report; none should be treated as an October 2026 offer or recommendation. Where to check for a MacBook Neo now
Start with Apple’s live MacBook Neo purchase page, then compare active listings at Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. Those retailers appeared in the April coverage, but that does not establish that they currently have stock, a particular configuration, or a particular seller. HotHardware linked Amazon listings for both storage options in April; those links do not prove there is a current Amazon offer. Search by the exact model and capacity—for example, “Apple MacBook Neo 256GB”—and open the actual product listing rather than relying on a search-result snippet.

For each offer, verify the details that affect what you receive and when:
- Total price: Confirm the current checkout price and whether any displayed discount has conditions.
- Configuration: Check storage and whether the listing is for the 256GB or 512GB model. 9to5Mac reported that Touch ID is included with the 512GB configuration.
- Color: Color-specific stock can differ. 9to5Mac named silver, blush, citrus, and indigo; HotHardware’s April article has an apparent repeated “Silver” label in its color list, so its color-specific inventory should not be relied on.
- Seller: On marketplace listings, confirm who is selling the laptop, not just which site hosts the listing.
- Timing and terms: Check the delivery estimate or store pickup status for your location, plus return and support terms.
Apple’s purchase page did not provide readable configuration or inventory details in the information available for this article. Accordingly, no retailer can be named here as having confirmed stock on October 8, 2026. Availability can change by location, color, and configuration.

Do you need to buy accessories with it?
No accessory is established as a required extra here. Apple says accessories are sold separately; choose them only for a connection or carrying need you have, and confirm compatibility with the specific product before buying. Apple’s MacBook Neo guide describes these optional uses:
- A USB-C to USB-C cable for syncing and charging.
- A USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter to connect an HDMI display, a standard USB device, and a charge cable.
- A USB-C to USB Adapter for standard USB accessories.
- A USB-C to SD Card Reader to transfer photos and videos.
Apple’s accessory catalogue also lists chargers, cables, and cases or sleeves for Mac laptops. The exact accessory and compatibility should be checked for your setup. Apple’s MacBook Neo guide and Apple’s Mac accessories catalogue describe these options.

Why the April rush drew attention
In its April 16 report, 9to5Mac attributed to Apple CEO Tim Cook the statement that MacBook Neo “had its best launch week ever for first-time Mac customers.” That is a reported qualitative statement, not a sales figure or a measure of current demand. The article links to Cook’s original remarks for context. Read 9to5Mac’s account.
