Apple Canada’s 2026 back-to-school gift card promotion ran from July 16 through September 24, 2026, and is no longer available for new qualifying purchases. Apple’s official terms confirm that gift-card value varied by product; the reviewed English terms do not establish a universal $200 amount. Apple’s offer terms explain which purchases qualified and what happened if a buyer returned a device.
Is Apple’s back-to-school gift card offer still available in Canada?
No. Apple’s 2026 University and College Student Offer was valid for qualifying orders placed July 16 to September 24, 2026. The offer has ended. Apple’s terms allowed an order placed during that period to qualify even if it shipped later, provided the purchase met the other conditions; that does not extend the promotion to new orders.

Which Macs and iPads qualified?
Apple listed four eligible product families:
- MacBook Air
- MacBook Pro
- iPad Air
- iPad Pro
Eligibility depended on the qualifying product and offer terms, not merely on buying any Apple computer or tablet. Refurbished products and open-box returns sold as-is were excluded. Apple’s Canadian education store continues to list these product families, but its current education pricing is separate from the expired gift-card promotion and can change.
Was the gift card really $200?
The reviewed official English terms do not confirm $200 as a blanket amount. They say the gift-card value depended on the product purchased, but the extracted chart lists the eligible product families without per-model dollar values. The amount for a specific configuration therefore cannot be established from that text.

Apple also says, “The Promotion Product is not a ‘gift.’” Its terms describe the promotion as a discount equal to the value of the promotional card and say all items in the cart, including the card, were charged. In practical terms, the card was part of a conditional offer rather than an unconditional free item.
Who could use the education offer?
Apple’s terms covered specified K–12 employees and officials, postsecondary faculty and staff, students attending or accepted into Canadian postsecondary institutions, and parents buying on behalf of an eligible postsecondary student. The purchaser had to demonstrate eligibility before buying.

Qualifying purchases had to be made through an Apple Store location, Apple Store for Education Individuals, or 1-800-MY-APPLE in Canada. Purchase and delivery had to be in the same country. The offer was therefore not established for purchases through third-party retailers.
What happened to the gift card if a buyer returned the Mac or iPad?
Apple’s offer terms required both the qualifying device and promotional card to be returned for a full refund. If the card was missing, not returned, or had been redeemed, Apple could deduct its full original value from the refund or exchange value. If the qualifying device was not returned, special offer pricing did not apply.

Apple’s general education sales terms state that qualifying Apple Store products can be returned or exchanged within 15 days of receipt, subject to their conditions. That general return window does not revive or extend the ended promotion. See Apple Canada’s education sales terms.

- Who qualifies and how Apple verifies eligibility
- Which exact device family and configuration qualify
- The card amount for that specific purchase
- Promotion dates, purchase channel, delivery geography and any stock conditions
- Whether financing or a payment method can be combined with the offer
- What must be returned, and how a missing or redeemed card affects a refund
