What is AOMD?
AOMD is Angel Oak Mortgage REIT, Inc.’s 9.750% Senior Notes due 2030. It is a debt security: investors lend money to the issuer and receive contractual interest, subject to the issuer’s ability to pay. Angel Oak’s common-stock ticker is AOMR; AOMD represents the senior notes, not an equity ownership stake.

Thin trading can make a note’s displayed price less representative of the amount at which a buyer can actually trade. Before placing an order, check the current bid, ask, last trade, timestamp and volume through a regulated brokerage or market-data terminal. Benzinga maintains a dedicated AOMD quote, news and history page that can serve as a secondary market-data reference.
Coupon, yield and maturity
Coupon versus yield
A 9.750% coupon is calculated from the notes’ stated principal amount. Yield depends on the price paid, accrued interest, payment schedule, time to maturity and any applicable call or redemption provisions. Buying below par can increase yield to maturity relative to the coupon; buying above par can reduce it. A live quote and the offering document are required for a defensible current-yield or yield-to-maturity calculation.

What happens in 2030?
At stated maturity, the issuer is expected to repay principal under the notes’ terms, unless the securities are redeemed, refinanced, restructured or affected by a credit event beforehand. Maturity therefore creates both a repayment date and refinancing risk: market conditions in 2030 may affect the issuer’s ability and cost of replacing the debt.
Angel Oak’s business and the credit factors behind AOMD
Angel Oak says it acquires and invests in first- and second-lien non-qualified-mortgage (non-QM) loans and other mortgage-related assets in the United States. Non-QM lending serves borrowers who may not fit standard qualified-mortgage underwriting, which can produce different credit, prepayment and loss characteristics from agency mortgage assets.
Angel Oak’s first-quarter 2026 fact sheet reported a 6.2% weighted-average loan coupon as of March 31, 2026. For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, the company reported $9.0 million of distributable earnings, or $0.37 per diluted share. Chief Executive Officer and President Sreeni Prabhu said second-quarter results included year-to-date growth of 21% in interest income and 14% in net interest income amid an uncertain macroeconomic environment.
Those operating figures describe the issuer’s business; they are not a credit rating or a promise that AOMD interest and principal will be paid. Investors should examine asset performance, financing costs, leverage, liquidity, housing conditions and the company’s ability to refinance or sell assets when evaluating the notes.

How to research AOMD news and filings
- Start with issuer disclosures. Review Angel Oak Mortgage REIT’s investor-relations filing index and the company’s filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
- Check the newest filing date. The issuer’s 2026 disclosure activity includes Form 8-K, Form S-3D, Form 10-Q and Form 10-K filings.
- Separate debt news from equity news. Confirm that a release refers to AOMD or the senior notes rather than AOMR common stock.
- Read the offering documents. Confirm payment dates, ranking, redemption or call language, covenants, default provisions and any other structural terms before relying on a yield calculation.
- Verify market data immediately before trading. Compare bid, ask, last trade, volume and accrued interest; a dated historical close is not an order quote.

Key risks and practical cautions
- Interest-rate risk: Rising market yields can pressure the price of a fixed-rate note before maturity.
- Credit risk: Losses in non-QM mortgage assets or higher funding costs could weaken the issuer’s capacity to service debt.
- Liquidity risk: The reported 717-share session illustrates that trading activity can be limited; an order may fill only at a less favorable price or not at all.
- Price-to-par risk: A price near $25 does not eliminate volatility or guarantee repayment at par.
- Information risk: Historical quote pages can lag live markets, so confirm every figure’s timestamp and whether it is a close, bid or ask.
