The Andhra Pradesh Police Constable Stage II application window in the 2022 recruitment cycle is closed. The deadline was extended to 5:00 PM on December 6, 2024, and its Physical Measurement Test/Physical Efficiency Test (PMT/PET) schedule has also passed. A separate 2026 recruitment is a different cycle; do not use the old deadline or rules for it.
Was the AP Police Constable Stage II application open?
No. The Stage II application referred to in the headline belonged to State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) notification Rc.No.161/SLPRB/Rect.2/2022, covering SCT Police Constable (Civil) and SCT Police Constable (APSP) posts. SLPRB extended that cycle’s online Stage II deadline to 5:00 PM on December 6, 2024. The announcement is historical, not a live application notice. SLPRB’s November 28, 2024 press release records the extension.
What happened after Stage II in the 2022 recruitment?
Stage II followed the preliminary written test
Under the 2022 notification, candidates first had to qualify in the preliminary written test. Qualifying candidates then submitted the Stage II application with scanned copies of original certificates and other required documents ahead of PMT/PET. The notification warned that paying the fee without submitting the Stage I application would result in rejection, with no refund. These are rules from the 2022 cycle, not confirmed instructions for a later recruitment. See the 2022 SLPRB notification.
Call letters and physical tests are also over
SLPRB said call letters for the 2022-cycle PMT/PET could be downloaded from 3:00 PM on December 18 through 3:00 PM on December 29, 2024. It scheduled the tests from December 30, 2024, to February 1, 2025, at 13 erstwhile district headquarters. Both windows have passed. The board’s December 12, 2024 press release gives those dates.

That release reported that 4,59,182 candidates appeared for the preliminary test and 95,208 qualified. The test was held at 997 centres across 35 locations; the later PMT/PET was scheduled at 13 erstwhile district headquarters. These figures describe the 2022 recruitment cycle.
How does the 2026 recruitment differ?
A separate recruitment under Rc.No.91/SLPRB/Rect.2/2026 was reported as covering 1,156 posts. A Prepp report published September 19, 2026, said Stage I dates and the preliminary written test date had not yet been announced in the information it reviewed. Stage II would come later for candidates who qualify; it is not the 2024 window. Because this status comes from a secondary report and dates can change, check the official AP SLPRB website and subsequent board announcements before taking action. The report is available at Prepp’s AP Police recruitment page.

Which 2022-cycle rules should not be assumed for 2026?
The 2022 notification specified one preliminary paper worth 200 marks, with a three-hour duration. Its minimum qualifying marks were 40% for OC (including EWS), 35% for BC, and 30% for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen. Those thresholds describe the old cycle only; verify the new official notification for current test structure and qualifying criteria.
The 2022 notice also set application fees at Rs. 300 for local OC/BC and non-local candidates, Rs. 150 for local SC/ST candidates, and Rs. 300 for EWS candidates. These are historical amounts, not current fee guidance. Check the applicable notification before paying.
