- Hitung kos per poin: Rp7.500.000 ÷ 1.250 = Rp6.000.

Metode harga pasar pada titik pisah
Untuk metode ini, hitung dahulu nilai pasar produksi tiap produk di titik pisah: volume dikalikan harga pasar per unit. Bagian masing-masing produk dari total nilai pasar menjadi proporsi alokasi kos bersama.

Mengapa hasilnya berbeda?
Kedua metode membagikan total kos bersama yang sama, tetapi memakai dasar pembagian yang berbeda. Metode poin memperlakukan bobot poin sebagai ukuran kuantitatif relatif: satu unit cupcake mendapat bobot tiga kali satu unit roti. Akibatnya, kos per unit hasil alokasi meningkat sejalan dengan poin per unit.

Metode harga pasar membagi kos menurut nilai pasar total produksi. Dalam kasus ini nilai produksi roti, croissant, dan cupcake masing-masing membentuk 40%, 30%, dan 30% dari total Rp10.000.000. Karena proporsi nilai pasar tersebut sebanding dengan harga per unit yang dipakai dalam soal, kos hasil alokasi per unit kebetulan sama, yaitu Rp7.500 untuk ketiganya.
Perbedaan ini adalah konsekuensi pilihan dasar alokasi, bukan perubahan pada jumlah kos bersama. Alokasi juga tidak dengan sendirinya membuktikan biaya aktual tiap produk atau menetapkan harga jual yang tepat; untuk keputusan tersebut dibutuhkan informasi tambahan, termasuk kos lain di luar kos bersama.
