In a 2009 interview with City on a Hill Press, Blumenfeld said he studied business in UC Berkeley’s Haas undergraduate program and began writing for CollegeHumor while he was still a student. He also described acting in CollegeHumor work, making Jake and Amir videos, and freelancing for ESPN The Magazine. These credits document work, but the interview gives no compensation figures.

Blumenfeld described his plans at the time this way: “I was hoping to get a creative job in business, perhaps advertising or marketing, while pursuing my comedy-writing passion on the side.”
Podcasting and HeadGum
A 2016 Washington Post article describes If I Were You as a podcast Jake Hurwitz and Blumenfeld began in 2013 and calls them co-founders of the HeadGum Podcast Network. That is historical career context; it does not establish Blumenfeld’s current ownership share, earnings, or the value of any business interest.
