The advertised $64 American Airlines fare was a historical one-way example from New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA) to Miami International Airport (MIA), for travel on April 6, 2025. The sale ended for new bookings on March 31, 2025, so that fare is no longer bookable under the promotion.
What the $64 American Airlines fare covered
Travel + Leisure reported the $64 sample fare for a nonstop LGA-to-MIA flight on April 6, 2025. It was one-way—not a round-trip price—and described an available fare example rather than a guaranteed price for all dates or travelers. “NYC” in the headline referred to LaGuardia, not every New York-area airport.
The promotion was described as applying to reservations made in the United States for nonstop flights departing from the contiguous 48 states to select destinations. Fares were non-refundable Basic Economy, first-come, first-served, and subject to fluctuation. See Travel + Leisure’s March 4, 2025 report for the historical sale details.
When the sale ran—and why it has expired
- Booking deadline: March 31, 2025.
- Travel period: Through May 22, 2025.
- Blackout dates: April 17–22, 2025.
Because the booking deadline and travel window have both passed, the $64 fare should not be treated as a current offer.

Other one-way fares reported in the sale
These were historical examples for listed dates, not current prices or promises of availability:
| Route | Reported one-way fare |
|---|---|
| Chicago–Las Vegas | From $80 |
| Dallas–Seattle | From $95 |
| Philadelphia–San Francisco | $115 |
| Los Angeles–New York | From $134 |
| Miami–Las Vegas | From $148 |
| Dallas–Honolulu | From $286 |
Was there also an AAdvantage bonus?
Separately, American Airlines announced a March 2025 incentive for registered AAdvantage members: 500 additional Loyalty Points for each American flight taken in March, up to 5,000 additional points total. That was a historical offer, not evidence of a current bonus. American’s 2025 newsroom announcement describes the promotion.

How to check current New York–Miami fares
Use American’s New York–Miami fare search to check present-day inventory; it is not a booking page for the expired $64 deal. American’s page, accessed October 7, 2026, warns that displayed fares are collected within the prior 24 hours and may no longer be available. It also says fares may be Basic Economy and baggage or optional-service fees may apply.
Before comparing a current fare with the old $64 example, match the travel date and departure airport, and check the itinerary and full price at checkout. In particular, compare one-way with one-way (or round trip with round trip), nonstop with nonstop, the fare family, baggage and seat-selection costs, and change or cancellation rules. LGA and JFK are different airports, and a low displayed fare may not include every service you want.
