Amber Enterprises India’s reported October 5, 2026 update put the estimated loss from the August fire at its IL JIN Electronics factory at ₹38.28 crore plus applicable GST. The insurer had released ₹10 crore as an advance, while detailed assessment of the balance remained underway as of October 7. The estimate is not a final insurance settlement.
What the insurance figures mean
| Figure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ₹38.28 crore plus applicable GST | Estimated loss and reported claim amount in Amber’s October 5 update, according to contemporaneous StockWatch coverage. It is not a final settlement. |
| ₹10 crore | Advance released by the insurer against the estimated loss, as reported by StockWatch. It is not the full claim payment. |
| Balance | Detailed assessment was still underway; the final amount recovered was not stated in the available reports. |
Amber’s official disclosure index lists an October 5 update, but the linked filing could not be retrieved. The latest precise figures therefore come from StockWatch’s contemporaneous report; the company disclosure index confirms that an update was listed. The Economic Times feed also identifies the insurance-recovery update, but provides only a brief summary.
What happened at the IL JIN factory
Amber’s August 4 filing said a fire occurred in the early hours at IL JIN Electronics (India) Limited’s factory at Plot No. 28, Ecotech-III, Extension-II, Udyog Kendra, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The filing identifies IL JIN as Amber’s material subsidiary.
According to that company filing, one IL JIN employee sustained minor injuries and was discharged after treatment. Two local fire-authority personnel died while firefighting, and three others were injured. Amber said the affected area’s operations were temporarily impacted and that unaffected areas were expected to be restored as soon as practicable; the filing does not establish that restoration was later completed.
