Amazon’s October 2026 shopping event—officially called Prime Big Deal Days—ran October 6–7 and has ended. The “from $5” claim applied to Halloween costumes and accessories, not to every deal or to prices available now. Amazon’s published pages do not establish the full 50-item list or its current prices, so treat any item-level offer as historical unless its live listing is checked.
What the “from $5” claim covered
Amazon said Halloween costumes and accessories for the whole family were available starting at $5 during Prime Big Deal Days. That is a starting-price claim for that category; it does not mean every costume cost $5, or that the event’s other products began at that price. Amazon’s September 14 announcement also listed early-offer starting prices of $10 for Amazon Essentials apparel, $5 for pet supplies, and $3 for Amazon Basics household staples.

Those figures describe promotion-period offers, not current prices. The announcement also described selected items as up to 40% off; that maximum does not establish the discount on every product.
When the event ran—and whether deals are still live
Amazon said Prime Big Deal Days ran for 48 hours, October 6–7, 2026, across more than 35 categories. Amazon’s October 7 roundup said the event was ending that night, and it is now over. Amazon’s event announcement and end-of-event roundup described time-limited deals and offers available while supplies lasted.

Some products may remain listed after the event, but that does not mean their event prices or discounts remain in effect. Check each item’s live listing, configuration, stock status, and current price before buying. Amazon’s event coverage does not verify current prices for a specific 50-deal list.
What Amazon highlighted as early offers
Amazon’s September 14 early-deal article named examples including an Amazon Ember 55-inch Mini-LED Series with Alexa+, an Amazon Ember 50-inch 4 Series with Alexa+, a Ring Battery Doorbell Plus Bundle, a Kindle Colorsoft Essentials Bundle, and a Blink Outdoor 2K+ and Video Doorbell Bundle. It advertised up to 45% off selected devices and bundles and up to 70% off selected Blink bundles. Those are promotional maximums, not evidence that each named product received that discount or still does.

The article title refers to 50 deals, but Amazon’s cited early-offer page gives examples rather than a verifiable list of those 50 items. The named products should therefore be treated as examples of Amazon’s promotion, not as confirmation of the contents, prices, or ranking of a particular 50-deal roundup. Amazon’s early-deals article is the source for those examples.
How to judge an event deal before buying
- Confirm the exact item and configuration. Bundles, sizes, and model variants can have different prices and included accessories.
- Check the live price and availability. An expired event discount should not be treated as a current saving.
- Look at price history. Amazon’s event guide described price history of up to 365 days, which can help put a discount in context; it does not guarantee that a deal is the lowest price available elsewhere.
- Compare the final purchase terms. Check Prime eligibility, shipping, returns, and any recurring costs that apply to the specific item or service.
Amazon used “lowest price of the year so far” language for some event offers, but that is Amazon’s claim and applies only within its stated scope. The cited event materials do not independently establish market-wide price lows or show that each product was the best available buy.

Prime membership and deal access
Amazon said Prime membership was required to access Prime Big Deal Days offers. Its October 6 event guide listed standard U.S. membership at $14.99 per month or $139 per year; those are U.S. rates stated in that guide, not a claim about other countries or future pricing. Amazon’s event FAQ also described limited-time deal drops at midnight, 8 a.m., and 1 p.m. PDT, plus alerts for saved or specified items.
Since this event has ended, those event access requirements and drop times do not make the October offers available now. For a future purchase, evaluate whether a membership is worthwhile based on the benefits you will actually use, rather than joining solely to chase an expired deal.
