Amazon’s AI ad tools can turn product-page information, images and existing creative into concepts, display ads and video. The workflow is aimed at advertisers and sellers, not shoppers: Amazon says it can research a product and audience, develop storyboards, generate creative and connect it to Amazon ad placements. The tools can do much of the production work, but advertisers still need to review the output and judge whether it fits their brand and campaign.
What is Amazon’s AI ad generator?
It is a set of advertising services, not one standalone product. Amazon Ads Creative Studio introduced a conversational AI creative partner for researching products and audiences, brainstorming concepts, developing storyboards and producing display and video ads. Amazon later announced Amazon Ads Agent as the new name for its unified advertising platform, adding natural-language media planning and built-in creative generation.
Amazon described the Creative Studio partner on September 17, 2025, as an agentic AI tool for creating professional-quality campaign ads. In its September 29, 2026 announcement, Amazon said the unified platform was now called Amazon Ads Agent and powered by agentic AI. The names and functions therefore reflect announcements at different dates, rather than two physical products.
What can it make, and what can sellers provide?
Amazon’s tools can support work from the initial idea through creative production and placement. Depending on the feature and eligibility, advertisers can start with a product shot, product page or existing ad creative. Amazon says its tools can draw on product-page information, Brand Store and website assets, shopping signals and broader retail insights.

| Stage | What Amazon says the tools can do |
|---|---|
| Research and planning | Research a product and audience, brainstorm concepts and, with Amazon Ads Agent, support media planning through natural-language requests. |
| Concept development | Develop storyboarded ideas for campaigns. |
| Creative production | Generate display images and video; Amazon has also described image, video and audio generators in Creative Studio, including voiceovers and music. |
| Motion and product use | Amazon’s Video Generator update described turning still images into motion and creating realistic high-motion shots of products in use. |
| Campaign use | Creative formats can support placements including Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, Amazon DSP, Sponsored Brands video and Brand Stores; Amazon’s newer platform announcement also describes TV-quality video and display images. |
These capabilities do not mean every format or input is available to every account. Amazon’s public announcements describe the tools and examples, but availability can vary by feature and market.
Can sellers make a video ad from one product image?
Yes, Amazon has described that workflow. Its Video Generator began in beta in September 2024, and Amazon’s June 10, 2025 update said the tool was available to all U.S. advertisers. The update described realistic high-motion shots of products in use and a one-click transformation of still images into motion. Amazon executive Jay Richman said the original beta could create eight-second, low-motion video ads from a single product image in minutes.

The beta description and later update refer to different stages and capabilities: the eight-second, low-motion example describes the original beta, while the June 2025 update announced added motion features and U.S. availability. Neither statement establishes that every seller, image or campaign can generate every kind of video. Confirm current account and country eligibility in Amazon Ads before planning a campaign around a specific feature.
Does Amazon’s AI create the whole ad?
It can take on several production steps, from research and concepting to storyboards and generated assets, but “whole ad” should not be read as “no advertiser involvement.” The seller still needs to provide or select useful product inputs, assess whether claims and visuals are accurate, check brand fit, choose a placement and manage the campaign. Generated content also needs review for errors, misleading product use or details that are not supported by the listing.

Amazon says its tools can reduce a process that traditionally took weeks to hours, but its cited public materials do not provide an independent time study. That makes the time-saving claim a description of Amazon’s intended workflow, not a guaranteed production time for every advertiser.
Is Amazon Ads Agent available to every seller?
Not necessarily. The June 2025 Video Generator announcement specifically said it was available to all U.S. advertisers at that time. That does not establish universal access to every Creative Studio or Amazon Ads Agent feature, or access in every country. Amazon’s September 2026 platform announcement describes the renamed platform, but the information cited here does not specify global rollout details for each feature.

Check the relevant feature in the Amazon Ads account for the target marketplace and campaign type, and consult Amazon’s current help or account guidance before relying on access. A seller may be eligible for one creative tool without having access to the full set of agentic planning and generation features.

Amazon has published positive results, but they are company-reported evidence—not independent proof that AI itself causes higher sales or that a typical seller will get the same outcome.
Best Value
- It can be a gift option
- Comes with secure packaging
- Helpful in various ways
- Amazon Ads reported that brands using Image Generator averaged almost 5% more sales per advertiser between October 2023 and June 2024. This is an average reported by Amazon for those brands, not a promised lift for an individual campaign.
- Amazon’s 2025 smart-bird-feeder example reported a 338% increase in click-through rate, 89% new-to-brand offers and 121% return on ad spend for the seller’s Sponsored Video ad compared with its other active Sponsored Video ads. It is one seller example, not a controlled general benchmark.
- Amazon Ads said in 2025 that its owned and operated properties reached more than 275 million monthly ad-supported customers in the U.S. This is Amazon’s claimed audience reach, not a result attributable to AI-generated creative.
The figures do not isolate the effect of AI from differences in targeting, budget, creative, product, timing or other campaign changes. Treat them as context for Amazon’s claims, not a forecast. For a seller, the practical test is to compare a generated ad with a relevant existing creative while keeping the campaign conditions as consistent as possible.
Quick Recap
What should sellers check before using generated creative?
- Product accuracy: Verify that the image, demonstration, features and wording match the actual product and listing.
- Brand fit: Check the tone, colors, logo use and audience assumptions before publishing.
- Placement and format: Confirm the generated asset suits the intended Amazon placement and campaign type.
- Eligibility: Check access for the relevant feature, marketplace and advertiser account rather than assuming all tools are globally available.
- Performance evidence: Use your own campaign outcomes to decide whether the asset works; Amazon’s published figures are not independent benchmarks.
