Some U.S. Amazon Prime customers may qualify for an automatic settlement payment if they enrolled through one of four specified sign-up flows or unsuccessfully tried to cancel online between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, and used no more than 20 Prime benefits in a 12-month period. The claim-form deadline has passed, but eligible consumers may still receive payments in later phases. The FTC says payments should arrive by April 2027; the maximum total is $200 per eligible consumer, not a guaranteed amount.
Who is eligible for an Amazon Prime settlement payment?
The FTC’s current refund guidance says a consumer must meet all three conditions:

- They were an Amazon Prime customer in the United States.
- Between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025, they either signed up through a challenged enrollment flow or tried and failed to cancel Prime through the online cancellation flow.
- They used no more than 20 Prime benefits during any 12-month period after enrolling.
Which enrollment flows are covered?
The FTC names four challenged sign-up flows: the universal Prime decision page, shipping selection page, single-page checkout, and Prime Video enrollment flow. The settlement does not make every Prime customer eligible simply because they had a membership. A qualifying enrollment flow or an unsuccessful online cancellation attempt during the stated dates is required.
How does the benefit-use limit work?
The current threshold is no more than 20 Prime benefits in a 12-month period following enrollment. Earlier phases used narrower limits: no more than three benefits for the original automatic-payment group and no more than 10 for the initial claims-process group. The revised order expanded automatic payment eligibility for specified consumers, including a later group that used 11 to 20 benefits. The current FTC eligibility summary is the practical starting point; the court order sets out the separate payout phases.

Can you still file a claim?
No. The claim-form deadline was July 27, 2026, and that date has passed. However, filing was not the only route to a payment: under the FTC’s current guidance, eligible consumers do not need to file a claim, respond to a notice, or complete a form to receive an automatic payment.
When will Amazon Prime settlement payments arrive?
The FTC says eligible customers should receive refunds by April 2027. The revised court order sets out a sequence of payments, and some eligible consumers may still receive an automatic payment even though the claim window is closed.

| Payment phase | Who it covers | Timing or condition |
|---|---|---|
| Earlier automatic-payment group | Consumers in the original automatic-payment group, which used no more than three Prime benefits. | The order’s later phases concern specified consumers who had not already received payment; see the court order for the phase rules. |
| Claims-process consumers | Specified consumers eligible for the claims process who had not already been issued a settlement payment and were not subject to a holdback. | Payment could begin August 30, 2026, whether or not the consumer filed a form. |
| Later automatic-payment group | Specified consumers who used 11 to 20 Prime benefits and had not already received payment. | Automatic payments could begin October 1, 2026. |
| Possible additional pro-rata payment | Consumers who previously accepted a payment, if the order’s fund-distribution condition is met. | Conditional: reconciliation is due by the end of March 2027; additional payments could begin by the end of April 2027. |
These phases do not guarantee that every potentially eligible person has already been paid. For the precise cohort and holdback rules, see the revised court order.
How much could you receive?
The maximum total payment is $200 per eligible consumer. That cap combines the earlier maximum of $51 with potential additional payment or payments of up to $149. The maximum is not promised to each recipient: actual amounts can be lower, and an additional pro-rata payment depends on the fund-distribution condition in the revised order.

How are payments sent, and what if one does not arrive?
Amazon administers the payments. According to the FTC’s refund page, they are sent by PayPal, Venmo, or mailed check. A payment expires 60 days after it is issued, so follow the instructions and deadline in the actual payment notice.

The FTC says it is not contacting people about refunds in this matter. It also warns that no one from Amazon will ask you to pay money to get a refund. Do not pay anyone who promises guaranteed eligibility or special access to a payment. Verify updates through the FTC’s Amazon refund page or the settlement administrator contact listed there.

What the settlement does—and does not—establish
The FTC announced the settlement as resolving allegations about Amazon’s Prime enrollment and cancellation practices. The settlement is not a court finding after trial that every allegation was proven. For consumers, the key practical points are the specific eligibility criteria, the passed claim deadline, and the payment procedures set out in the FTC guidance and revised order.
