Amazon raised prices for select U.S. Music Unlimited plans in 2025. New customers were charged the revised rates starting January 29, 2025; existing monthly subscribers moved to the new price at a monthly renewal on or after March 5, 2025. The exact amount depends on your plan and Prime status, and the renewal timing for annual subscribers should be checked in the account notice.
What are the revised U.S. Music Unlimited prices?
Amazon’s U.S. FAQ lists the former and revised prices below. The changes were not the same across plans: the monthly Family plan rose by $3, while the listed Individual plans rose by $1.

- Your favorite music and content – Play music, audiobooks, and podcasts from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify and others or via Bluetooth throughout your home.
- Alexa is happy to help – Ask Alexa for weather updates and to set hands-free timers, get answers to your questions and even hear jokes. Need a few extra minutes in the morning? Just tap your Echo Dot to snooze your alarm.
- Keep your home comfortable – Control compatible smart home devices with your voice and routines triggered by built-in motion or indoor temperature sensors. Create routines to automatically turn on lights when you walk into a room, or start a fan if the inside temperature goes above your comfort zone.
- Do more with device pairing – Fill your home with music using compatible Echo devices in different rooms, or create a home theatre system with Fire TV.
- Say goodbye to drop-offs and buffering - With eero Built-in, Echo Dot doubles as a mesh wifi extender, adding up to 1,000 sq. ft. of wifi coverage to your existing eero network.
If you already had a monthly subscription
The change took effect at your monthly renewal on or after March 5, 2025, rather than on one date for every subscriber. Your renewal date determines when the new amount appeared on a bill.
If you pay annually
Amazon’s FAQ includes revised annual prices but its timing explanation for existing subscribers refers to monthly renewals. Check the renewal date and notice for your account rather than assuming the monthly transition date applies to an annual term.

How to confirm your plan and next charge
- Open Amazon Music and go to Music Settings to identify your plan, as Amazon’s FAQ directs.
- Check your Amazon account billing details or the price-change notice for the next charge, renewal date, and billing channel.
- Compare that account-specific amount with the applicable plan in the table; account notices are the useful reference if your plan is annual or billed through a different channel.
What the price pays for—and what Prime already includes
Amazon distinguishes the music benefit included with Prime from the paid Music Unlimited subscription. Its Prime benefits page describes Prime music as listening in shuffle mode, while Unlimited adds on-demand access and higher-quality audio. If you mainly use the included benefit, assess whether Unlimited’s added features justify the higher subscription charge for you.
Amazon’s U.S. Music Unlimited product page advertises more than 100 million songs, ad-free on-demand listening, HD and spatial audio, podcasts, and one audiobook monthly. Those are Amazon’s service descriptions, not independent measurements; trial terms and offers can change. The product page currently lists U.S. Individual monthly pricing of $11.99, or $10.99 for Prime members, so consult the live page and your account rather than treating the 2025 FAQ as a guarantee of today’s price in every case.

Should you keep or change plans?
- Prime membership: Amazon lists a lower Individual monthly rate for Prime members than for non-Prime customers in the cited U.S. prices. Compare the music rate with your actual Prime membership costs and other benefits; do not assume Prime is worthwhile solely for the music discount.
- Household listening: Amazon says the Family plan supports up to six members. Compare its current account-specific price with what separate subscriptions would cost for your household.
- Annual versus monthly billing: The FAQ lists annual prices for Prime Individual and Family plans, but does not clearly explain how existing annual subscribers transition. Confirm the renewal terms before choosing a billing cadence.
- Feature needs: If you do not need on-demand playback or the higher-quality audio Amazon associates with Unlimited, the music access included with Prime may be sufficient for your listening habits.
Amazon Help describes switching among Individual, Single Device, and Family plans. Review the plan details in your account before changing: availability and the effect on billing depend on your subscription, and you should not assume a promotional offer will carry over.
