Miramax’s current project page also identifies Amazon MGM Studios as the release partner. Separately, LEONINE says Miramax is producing and financing the film, and that Amazon MGM will release it outside German-speaking Europe. Miramax’s project page and LEONINE’s announcement describe those roles.
When does The Beekeeper 2 come out?
The listed date depends on territory. Amazon MGM lists January 15, 2027; LEONINE lists January 14, 2027 for Germany. LEONINE’s announcement covers German-speaking Europe theatrical rights, excluding the Prime Video Pay-1 window. These dates and rights apply to their respective territories, not to a confirmed worldwide schedule.

How much did Amazon MGM pay?
A May 6, 2025 acquisition report relayed through IMDb News said the rights deal was worth more than $50 million. IMDb News’ report attributes the figure to Deadline.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Who wrote The Beekeeper 2?
The available sources conflict. LEONINE credits Kurt Wimmer with writing the sequel script. A surfaced trade report names Umair Aleem, while Miramax’s current project page names no sequel writer. Until the credits are reconciled by an authoritative listing, Wimmer’s credit should be understood as LEONINE’s attribution rather than a universally confirmed credit.

The original The Beekeeper was directed by David Ayer, written by Wimmer, and starred Statham. Miramax describes Adam Clay as a former operative of a secret organization called Beekeepers whose revenge campaign takes on national stakes. Its page for the original film lists Amazon and Prime Video among ways to watch that movie; it does not establish sequel streaming or physical-media availability.
