Amazon’s U.S. Black Friday Week began November 21, 2024, while Black Friday itself fell on November 29. Amazon said U.S. savings continued through Cyber Monday, December 2. The UK schedule was different: Amazon UK said early offers began November 8, ahead of its November 21–December 2 Black Friday Week. These are historical dates and promotions, not current offers.
When did Amazon Black Friday 2024 start?
In the U.S., Amazon Black Friday Week ran from November 21, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time through November 29 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time, according to Amazon’s event explainer. Black Friday was Friday, November 29. Amazon’s separate deal preview said savings continued through Cyber Monday on December 2, so the broader promotion extended beyond Black Friday Week.

Amazon’s U.S. explainer directed shoppers to its Deals page to browse early deals, but the reviewed announcement does not establish a U.S. launch date for early offers before November 21. “Deals available early” should not be taken to mean that the U.S. event started on a specific earlier date.
How did the UK schedule differ?
Amazon UK announced its own Black Friday Week, running from November 21 at midnight GMT through December 2, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. GMT. It said early Black Friday deals were available from November 8. The UK announcement also promoted savings of up to 40% on hundreds of thousands of deals. Those dates and claims apply to the UK marketplace, not the U.S. event. See Amazon UK’s announcement.

What kinds of deals did Amazon advertise?
Amazon described its U.S. event as featuring millions of deals across more than 35 categories, including electronics, home, beauty and fashion. Those are Amazon’s promotional descriptions, not independently audited deal counts or savings. Its 2024 preview listed examples across devices, computers, audio, toys, appliances and home goods:
- Amazon devices: up to 55% off selected products, including Echo Pop, Echo Buds, Echo Dot (5th Gen), eero mesh Wi-Fi systems, Fire TV sets, Ring cameras and doorbells, Fire HD 8, Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite.
- Audio and computers: up to 50% off selected Beats headphones and earbuds; up to 45% off selected HP, Lenovo and Acer laptops; and up to 40% off selected Samsung Galaxy Buds.
- Toys and entertainment: up to 40% off selected toys from Hot Wheels, Fisher-Price, American Girl and Barbie; and up to 50% off selected toys, apparel and home goods from Disney, Marvel and Star Wars.
- Home and kitchen: up to 50% off selected vacuums from iRobot, Roborock and Shark; up to 45% off selected Cuisinart, Nutribullet and KitchenAid appliances; and up to 40% off selected Dyson vacuums and air purifiers.
Amazon also highlighted selected fashion, beauty and home products. Each percentage was an advertised maximum for selected items, not a promise that every product from a named brand—or every item in a category—would receive that discount. What did the advertised discounts mean for shoppers?
An “up to” percentage is a ceiling, not a measure of typical savings. Amazon’s materials do not establish how much shoppers saved on average, and the reviewed sources include no independent study of savings. To judge a specific purchase, compare the item’s price with its usual price and check the exact model, marketplace, and offer terms rather than relying on a brand-level headline percentage.
One product-specific example in Amazon’s U.S. roundup was a Technivorm Moccamaster 10-cup coffee maker from the 53923 KBGV line, advertised at up to 50% off. That was a historical sample offer, not evidence of a current price or present availability. How did Amazon say shoppers could find deals?
For the 2024 U.S. event, Amazon pointed readers to its Deals page for early offers. It also described Alexa notifications for eligible products on a shopper’s Wish List, in their Cart, or in Save for Later, saying Alexa could notify customers up to 24 hours before an eligible deal. These were features described for that event; the announcement does not confirm that the same interfaces or notification behavior remain available today.
Amazon’s 2024 deal roundup said shoppers did not need Prime to shop the listed deals. Prime delivery benefits and membership details were separate from eligibility to buy those deals, and the historical roundup does not establish current membership terms.
