Amazon currently describes Bazaar as an Amazon.in storefront for ultra-affordable fashion, home, kitchen and electronic-accessory products, with prices starting at ₹99 across categories.
What Amazon announced in February 2024
On February 20, 2024, TechCrunch reported that Amazon was preparing a value-focused storefront called Bazaar for India. A communication to Amazon partners described unbranded, trendy fashion and lifestyle products priced below ₹600. It also pitched no referral fee and delivery through Amazon, and said sellers could reach tens of millions of customers. These were terms reported from the launch-era seller communication, not confirmation of Bazaar’s current seller fees or policies. TechCrunch’s February 2024 report.
How the plan became a storefront
On April 5, 2024, TechCrunch reported that Bazaar had rolled out on Amazon India’s Android app. The launch assortment included clothing, accessories, jewelry, handbags, shoes, traditional and western wear, and home goods such as kitchenware, towels, bedding and décor. Examples at the time included T-shirts starting at ₹129 and sneakers priced below $3; these are historical examples, not current price promises. TechCrunch’s April 2024 report.
What Amazon says Bazaar offers now
Amazon India’s current company page describes Bazaar as a curated storefront within Amazon.in, covering fashion, home essentials, kitchen products and electronic accessories. Its apparel examples include T-shirts and kurtis. Amazon says prices start at ₹99 across categories. That is a starting price, not a guarantee that every item—or any particular item—costs ₹99. The current page has no visible publication date, and prices and available products can change. Amazon India’s Bazaar page.

The two price figures describe different things at different times: the under-₹600 figure was a maximum in the reported 2024 seller pitch; ₹99 is Amazon’s current stated starting price across categories. They are not conflicting price limits.
How to find Bazaar and check an order’s terms
- Open the Amazon shopping app and look for the Bazaar storefront, or search for Bazaar products on Amazon.in.
- Amazon says Bazaar is not available on the Amazon.in desktop website. If you are shopping on a computer, use the app or Amazon.in search instead.
- Before buying, check the individual listing for its price, ratings, reviews and return eligibility. Amazon says delivery estimates depend on the seller and product type, and that free delivery and a five-day return policy apply to most products subject to exclusions and listing terms. Use the listing for the terms that apply to your item; the general description is not a guarantee for every order. Amazon’s current Bazaar information.
Amazon India’s current page does not establish a universal delivery time. An expected delivery time reported around the 2024 launch should not be treated as a present-day commitment.

Why Amazon introduced a value-fashion destination
TechCrunch framed Bazaar as part of Amazon’s competition in affordable fashion and lifestyle e-commerce with Flipkart, Reliance’s Ajio and Meesho. In that February 2024 report, TechCrunch cited a Bernstein estimate that Ajio had approximately 30% share measured by monthly active users. That figure is a dated estimate attributed to Bernstein through TechCrunch—not a current market-share measure or a direct comparison of the retailers’ sales. TechCrunch’s February 2024 report.
An Amazon India spokesperson told Business Standard in April 2024 that Bazaar would let customers discover ultra-affordable fashion and home products listed by sellers, especially those from manufacturing hubs across India. The statement described Amazon’s rationale at launch; it does not establish current seller fees or product availability. Business Standard, April 15, 2024.

What shoppers should compare before choosing a value-shopping app
A low listed price alone does not tell you which service offers the better purchase. For Bazaar or alternatives such as Ajio Street and Meesho, compare the details that affect the final cost and whether the item suits you:
- Product range: Check whether the service carries the category and style you need.
- Price and quality signals: Compare the actual item price and use available ratings and reviews as context.
- Delivery estimate: Check the estimate for your location and the specific listing.
- Returns: Confirm that the product is eligible and review the listing’s terms and process before ordering.
- Access: Check whether you can shop through an app, a website or a particular storefront.
The available information does not support a current, apples-to-apples performance ranking among these services. For Bazaar, rely on the live listing rather than launch-era prices or seller terms.
