Amazon Autos began listing used Hertz vehicles in August 2025, expanding beyond its initial used-car partnership with Hyundai dealers. Hertz was Amazon Autos’ first fleet dealer; the launch began in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Seattle, with expansion to 45 Hertz Car Sales locations described as a plan—not proof that every location or vehicle is currently represented.
What changed on Amazon Autos
Amazon announced used and certified pre-owned (CPO) listings on Amazon Autos in December 2024, initially with Hyundai dealers. Hertz joined in August 2025 as the marketplace’s first fleet dealer, bringing pre-owned vehicles from brands including Ford, Toyota, Chevrolet, and Nissan. Hertz said the launch would start in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Seattle, then expand to its 45 Hertz Car Sales locations. Hertz’s August 20, 2025 announcement described thousands of vehicles, a company-reported figure.

Amazon’s current dealer information describes a broader marketplace: any franchise dealer can list used, non-CPO vehicles of any brand. Amazon names Hyundai, Mazda, Kia, and Subaru dealer participation for new, CPO, and used inventory, as well as Ford Blue Advantage certified inventory. It says participation continues to expand metro by metro. The used-Hertz announcement therefore marks an expansion from the initial Hyundai partnership, not an Amazon-operated used-car business. Yes, when a specific Hertz vehicle is listed in a shopper’s market and remains available. The 2025 launch announcement identified four initial cities and a planned wider rollout; it does not establish that every Hertz Car Sales location, or all vehicles sold by Hertz, are listed on Amazon Autos today. Search the live marketplace by ZIP code and confirm the listing, seller location, fees, and pickup arrangements before relying on availability. Amazon’s how-it-works page says it displays vehicles within 75 miles of the customer’s ZIP code. How Amazon Autos works

Hertz later said its separate HertzCarSales.com online-buying service was available across its U.S. locations. That nationwide statement concerns Hertz’s own website; it should not be taken as evidence that Amazon Autos has nationwide Hertz inventory. Hertz’s September 30, 2025 announcement
How the Amazon Autos purchase works
Amazon Autos provides the digital storefront and purchase workflow, while the participating dealer sets the vehicle price, remains the seller, completes the sale, and handles pickup or delivery. Shoppers can select a purchase type, arrange financing and a down payment online, and schedule pickup at the dealership. Amazon says pickup is generally scheduled within one to three days after a deposit; timing and arrangements for a particular car should be confirmed in its listing.

What protections apply—and to which cars?
There are two sets of terms to distinguish: Amazon Autos’ marketplace requirements and Hertz Certified benefits. Neither should be assumed to apply identically to every vehicle. Amazon’s current dealer FAQ says used and CPO vehicles sold through Amazon Autos have a 3-day/300-mile return policy, and that dealers must provide a complimentary qualifying limited warranty with used vehicles. Its how-it-works page describes a 30-day/1,000-mile limited warranty administered through Safe-Guard. Buyers should rely on the exact vehicle listing and governing purchase terms to determine the protections for their transaction. Amazon Autos’ dealer FAQ · Amazon Autos’ how-it-works page
