Amazon’s announcements describe freighters bought or leased for the network, while reports about Bezos’s business jets rely on separate public-record and aviation-industry reporting. A May 2024 estimate put three jets associated with Bezos at around $140 million—not a verified current $150 million valuation.
What is Amazon Air?
Amazon Air is the company’s cargo operation, which uses freighter aircraft to move packages through its delivery network. Amazon has announced both leased and purchased aircraft for that network; those fleet announcements do not describe Bezos’s personal planes.
Aircraft Amazon announced for the cargo network
- 2018: Amazon said it was building Amazon Air capacity to support faster deliveries. The company’s announcement described the network’s customer-delivery purpose, not Bezos’s personal travel. Amazon’s December 20, 2018 announcement.
- 2020: Amazon announced a lease from ATSG for 12 Boeing 767-300 aircraft converted to cargo use. This is a historical announcement, not a current fleet count. Amazon’s June 2020 announcement.
- 2021: Amazon said it purchased 11 Boeing 767-300 aircraft—seven from Delta Air Lines and four from WestJet—for Amazon Air. The aircraft were expected to join the network in 2021 and 2022. Amazon’s January 2021 announcement.
Purchase or lease announcements identify how Amazon secured aircraft for its cargo network. They do not establish that every plane operating Amazon packages is owned by Amazon, nor do they provide a current total fleet count.
Does Jeff Bezos own Amazon Air’s planes?
Amazon’s cargo aircraft and Bezos’s reported business jets are different subjects. Amazon’s public announcements describe aircraft serving Amazon Air; reports about Bezos’s aircraft associate them with him through separate public-record and aviation-data reporting. The sources cited here do not establish a complete, current legal inventory of his aircraft.

That distinction matters when interpreting the headline: the Boeing freighters associated with Amazon Air are working cargo aircraft, while the Gulfstreams and Pilatus reported in connection with Bezos are business jets. Calling the latter “Amazon Air jets” would conflate a corporate delivery network with personal or business travel.
What private jets have been reported in connection with Bezos?
A May 2024 Business Insider report republished by Yahoo associated Bezos with two Gulfstream G650ERs and a Pilatus PC-24, drawing on public records and JetSpy data. It is a dated reported snapshot, not a definitive statement of his current aircraft holdings. Business Insider’s report republished by Yahoo.

In August 2024, aviation-industry reporting said Bezos had added a Gulfstream G700. Reuters separately reported that the Federal Aviation Administration certified the G700 in March 2024. Certification establishes that milestone for the aircraft model; it does not by itself confirm an individual’s ownership. Aviation-industry report on the reported addition; Reuters on FAA certification.
The dates and aircraft counts differ across reports, so the safest description is that these aircraft have been reported as associated with Bezos—not that a single source establishes a complete, current fleet list.

Are Bezos’s jets really worth $150 million?
There is no authoritative, current valuation established by the cited reporting. The May 2024 Business Insider report put the combined value of three reported jets at around $140 million. A separate June 2024 article returned a $149 million figure while counting a helicopter, illustrating that estimates can vary with the date and which aircraft are included. These are media estimates, not an audited valuation of a confirmed current fleet.
A November 2024 report said a 2015 G650ER was listed for about $39 million. That was a reported asking price at the time, not proof of a completed sale or the current value of a Bezos-associated aircraft. Business Insider’s report republished by Yahoo.
Aircraft values depend on the specific aircraft and the basis of comparison. A reported asking price for one used jet cannot establish what another aircraft is worth or validate a combined fleet estimate. The available reports do not establish a current sale, a complete aircraft inventory, or a reliable present-day total.
