Amanda Bynes’ current net worth has not been publicly established, so it cannot be confirmed that her wealth is low. The most visible figure, $6 million, is an estimate published by an entertainment website, not a court-verified or audited number. The only detailed asset total in the public record is from 2014 court paperwork, as reported secondhand, and it describes a single point in time more than a decade ago.
What the current figure is
Celebrity Net Worth lists Bynes’ net worth at $6 million on its Amanda Bynes Net Worth page, which was viewed on October 8, 2026. Celebrity Net Worth is a commercial entertainment site. Its page does not present a balance sheet, a list of accounts, or a date-stamped disclosure, and the sources reviewed do not explain how the estimate was built. Treat it as one publisher’s approximation, not a measurement of what Bynes owns today.
The historical figures and what each one measures
The most concrete numbers are older and come from the same site’s account of 2014 court paperwork. Each one answers a different question, so they should not be combined or compared directly.
| Figure | What it measures | Date or period | Source and limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5.7 million in assets | Total reported assets: about $2.8 million in real estate and about $2.9 million in cash or equivalents | Court paperwork filed in 2014 | Celebrity Net Worth’s account of the paperwork. Secondhand; no original filing was reviewed. A historical asset total, not a net worth. |
| About $145,000 in income | Income for the year before the 2014 filing, mostly from rentals, with negligible royalties or other acting income | Prior year to the 2014 filing | Celebrity Net Worth’s account of the same paperwork. It is one year of income, not lifetime earnings. |
| $6 million estimate | A site estimate of total net worth | Viewed October 8, 2026 | Celebrity Net Worth. Not an audited or court-verified disclosure. |
| $1.2 million spent | Spending her parents said they reported to a judge in 2013, as described in 2022 coverage | Roughly a few months, as described in the claim | A claim by her parents, reported by the Los Angeles Times in March 2022. Not a court finding and not a total of lifetime spending. |
Because the asset total is from 2014 and the income figure covers a single year, neither can be rolled forward into a present-day number. Income, assets, and net worth are also different measures: a person can have modest yearly income and still hold assets, and a total asset figure does not net out debts or liabilities.

The question assumes a comparison, usually with the fame she had as a young actor. That comparison is understandable, but the public record does not supply the inputs to make it. Bynes became known through Nickelodeon’s All That and The Amanda Show, then appeared in films including What a Girl Wants, She’s the Man, and Hairspray. She announced an acting hiatus shortly before Easy A in 2010, and reporting says she had not acted since that film.
That hiatus is a real fact, and it explains why an observer might expect less recent income than her early career suggests. It does not, by itself, show what her assets are worth now. The sources reviewed do not report her current earnings, investments, property, or debts, and they do not show how any estimate accounts for them.
The conservatorship and the trust
The conservatorship over Bynes ended in March 2022. Reporting from CBS News quoted Ventura County Superior Court Judge Robert Lund’s tentative ruling: “The court determines that the conservatorship is no longer required and that grounds for establishment of a conservatorship of the person no longer exist.” CBS News reported that ruling on March 23, 2022, in its coverage of the conservatorship’s termination.
The termination concerned Bynes’ personal conservatorship, not a public accounting of her finances. The Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times described her assets as held in a trust overseen by her father, outside the conservatorship estate. No current trust statement or trust balance has been published in the reporting reviewed. A court ending a conservatorship therefore says nothing about how much money remains.
How to read claims about her finances
Most of the confusion around this topic comes from mixing up different kinds of figures. Before accepting any number, check which category it belongs to:
- Estimate or reported figure. A website estimate is not a court filing, and a court filing reported secondhand is not an audited statement.
- Date. A 2014 asset total describes 2014. A figure viewed in 2026 is only as current as the publisher’s update.
- Assets or income. A yearly income figure cannot be read as a wealth figure, and an asset total is not the same as net worth.
- Personal estate or trust. Funds held in a trust overseen by a parent may not appear in a figure about her personal estate, and the reporting reviewed does not say how the two were combined.
- Claim or finding. Statements about spending come from her parents as reported in court-related coverage. They are not a court finding of total lifetime spending.
What cannot be concluded
No current audited statement, full trust accounting, or breakdown of current assets and liabilities appears in the public reporting reviewed. That means no reliable current net worth can be calculated from 2014 asset figures or from online estimates. Anyone who says her wealth is depleted, that she has spent everything, or that the conservatorship caused a specific loss is going beyond what the record shows.
The careful answer is that her current net worth is unknown in public, that the best-known number is an estimate, and that the historical figures describe a past moment, not today’s finances.
Coverage of her finances also should avoid speculation about her health. The legal questions in her case concern a court’s decision about a conservatorship, and that is the only part of her history the financial record connects to.
For background on the court and career timeline, see the Washington Post and CBS News reports linked above. For the current site estimate, see Celebrity Net Worth’s page.
The figures discussed here are not an audited accounting, and a precise current number cannot be established from the public reporting. This is an unresolved question rather than one answered with an estimate.
