Which altcoins under $5 can be verified today?
The available October 8, 2026 CoinGecko snapshots support two under-$5 examples: ADA and XRP. Their prices and market capitalizations are point-in-time figures and can change. RXS is not a verified third choice: an old Rexas Finance dashboard result describes a real-world-asset tokenization project and provides a contract address, but it does not establish current price, trading, liquidity, exchange availability, or project status.

These are examples that meet a unit-price threshold in a dated snapshot, not a ranked list of investments to buy. The November 21, 2024 article’s claims about rallies, whale accumulation, legal developments, and tokenization should not be treated as current evidence.
Does a low coin price mean an altcoin is cheap?
No. A token’s unit price tells you the cost of one token, not whether the asset is undervalued. Market capitalization—the market price multiplied by the circulating supply—is a broader measure of the market value assigned to circulating units, but it still does not tell you what a token is worth or whether its price will rise.

For example, ADA’s and XRP’s snapshot prices are both below $5, while their reported market capitalizations differ substantially. Comparing them responsibly would also require current information about circulating and maximum supply, liquidity and trading venues, volatility and drawdowns, custody compatibility, and the legal and tax rules that apply in your jurisdiction. The available figures do not answer all of those questions.
What distinguishes ADA, XRP and RXS?
Cardano (ADA)
Cardano describes ADA as its native asset and says holders can delegate it to a stake pool. Delegation does not guarantee a return, and the ability to delegate is a network feature—not evidence that ADA is a bargain. In a 2025 filing, the CFTC described Cardano as moderately volatile and reported approximately 5.2% 30-day volatility in the filing’s dated context. That historical figure is not a current October 2026 volatility reading.
XRP
The available current evidence here establishes a price and market-cap snapshot and that CoinGecko lists associated wallets. It does not provide enough current detail to make a broader comparison of XRP’s network role, supply, legal treatment, or investment outlook. Check those matters against current primary sources and the rules in your jurisdiction before making a decision.
Rexas Finance (RXS)
The old dashboard result describes RXS as part of a real-world-asset tokenization project. A project description and contract address alone do not show that a token is currently active, liquid, readily tradable, or below $5. Without reliable current evidence for those basics, RXS should not be presented as a verified under-$5 pick.

How should you think about crypto in a $1 million portfolio?
Portfolio size by itself does not determine how much, if any, belongs in cryptocurrency. An allocation recommendation would depend on your goals, time horizon, liquidity needs, risk tolerance, jurisdiction, tax situation, and existing holdings. None of those circumstances can be inferred from a $1 million figure.
Before considering an allocation, decide what loss you could financially withstand and whether you may need the money during a downturn. Compare crypto exposure with your overall financial plan rather than treating a low token price as a reason to invest. The snapshots above cannot establish an appropriate percentage or dollar amount for an individual portfolio.
