Alphabet’s latest results show strong growth, especially in Google Cloud, but they do not establish what the stock will be worth in a year. In a third-party snapshot displayed October 7, 2026, Stock Analysis reported an average one-year target of $429.47 for GOOGL, based on a stated 61-analyst S&P Global poll. That is a changing analyst estimate—not Alphabet guidance or an independently calculated fair value. The central question for investors is whether growth from AI and Cloud can earn adequate returns on the company’s rapidly increasing infrastructure spending.
Which Alphabet stock forecast does the ticker refer to?
Alphabet is Google’s parent company. Its publicly traded shares have two commonly referenced classes: GOOGL is Class A and GOOG is Class C. The analyst target snapshot discussed below is for GOOGL; it should not be treated as a quoted target for GOOG. Both represent ownership in Alphabet, but a price or target should always be tied to the specific class and date.
The figures below are current only to the dates stated. Alphabet’s latest results in this article are for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The GOOGL market close and analyst poll are a third-party snapshot displayed October 7, 2026—not a live quote.
What is the one-year GOOGL analyst target?
Stock Analysis displayed a GOOGL close of $350.50 on October 7, 2026, and attributed the following one-year price targets to a 61-analyst S&P Global poll:

| Measure | GOOGL value | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| Average target | $429.47 | Mean of the poll’s analyst targets |
| Median target | $430 | Midpoint target in the poll |
| Low target | $340 | Lowest target in the displayed range |
| High target | $515 | Highest target in the displayed range |
| Reference close | $350.50 | GOOGL close displayed for October 7, 2026 |
The aggregator displayed implied upside of 22.53% from its $350.50 reference close to the $429.47 average target. This is a simple comparison of a dated price and a changing consensus estimate, not a projected or guaranteed investor return. The $340 low target was below that reference close, while the $515 high target was substantially above it; the spread is a reminder that analysts disagree materially. Recent entries displayed by Stock Analysis included Morgan Stanley at $400 on October 7 and Wells Fargo at $417 on October 6.
The poll is a snapshot of third-party opinions. It is not Alphabet’s own forecast, a valuation model, or a promise that GOOGL will reach any target. It also does not establish an equivalent target range for GOOG.

What do Alphabet’s latest results say about growth?
Alphabet reported $119.796 billion in revenue for Q2 2026, up 24% year over year, operating income of $40.770 billion and a 34% operating margin. Diluted earnings per share were $9.11. These are company-reported results for the quarter ended June 30, not estimates for future quarters.
| Business or measure | Q2 2026 reported result | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Google Services revenue | $94.540 billion, up 15% year over year | The larger of the two segments shown here |
| Google Cloud revenue | $24.768 billion, up 82% year over year | Fast growth from a smaller revenue base than Services |
| Google Cloud operating income | $8.814 billion | Shows the segment generated operating profit in the quarter |
Alphabet’s Q2 release linked Cloud growth to enterprise AI solutions and infrastructure as well as core Google Cloud Platform services. The figures make Cloud an important growth driver, but one quarter’s growth rate does not by itself establish that the pace will continue.

Q2 other income included a $98.0 billion net gain, primarily from unrealized gains on equity securities. Net income available to common stockholders was $112.107 billion. Because that unusually large non-operating gain contributed to the quarter’s earnings, the $9.11 diluted EPS should not be annualized as though it were a normal run rate or read as a measure of recurring operating growth on its own.
How much is Alphabet spending on AI and infrastructure?
Alphabet’s investment plans have escalated. At its April 29, 2026 Q1 call, management raised full-year 2026 capital-expenditure guidance to $180 billion–$190 billion and said 2027 capex would increase significantly compared with 2026. After Q2, S&P Global Market Intelligence reported on July 27 that management had raised 2026 guidance again, to $195 billion–$205 billion, and expected capex to rise further in 2027. The later post-Q2 range supersedes the earlier Q1 range as the latest guidance reported here.
Rank #4
Management tied investment to demand for AI compute, Cloud and Google Services. It also warned that technical-infrastructure spending would increase depreciation and data-center operating costs, including energy. S&P Global’s post-Q2 analysis described potential pressure on margins and free cash flow as spending accelerates. Capital expenditure can support future capacity, but the spending itself is not evidence that the resulting business will earn an adequate return.
Cloud backlog is a dated indicator, not a current-quarter figure
On the Q1 call, Alphabet reported a $462 billion Cloud backlog as of March 31, 2026, and expected just over half to be recognized over the following 24 months. That is a Q1 measure with a stated date and recognition expectation; it should not be presented as a Q2 backlog or as revenue already earned. Backlog can support a growth thesis, but investors still need to watch conversion into revenue, margins and cash generation.

What could support or weaken the forecast?
Potential supports
- Cloud expansion: Q2 Cloud revenue rose 82% year over year, and the company cited both AI-related demand and core GCP services.
- AI across products: Management says AI investment is intended to support multiple parts of the business, including Cloud and Google Services. Whether those investments translate into durable, profitable growth remains the key test.
- Operating scale: Q2 revenue growth and a 34% company operating margin show that Alphabet reported substantial operating income in that quarter, although these results do not settle how future spending will affect margins.
Material risks
- Advertising exposure: Alphabet’s 2025 Form 10-K says online advertising generated more than 70% of total 2025 revenue. The company identifies reduced advertiser spending, loss of distribution or content partners, shifts in ad formats and privacy practices, and ad-blocking technology as risks.
- AI could disrupt as well as support the business: The filing says AI is reshaping advertising and that future formats and strategies may not succeed. It also warns that competing or new technologies could change how people find information and reduce use of existing products.
- Infrastructure costs and capacity: AI products require significant infrastructure, development and operating costs. Alphabet also identifies dependence on the availability and price of third-party equipment, energy and network capacity.
- Competition and legal uncertainty: The filing identifies intense competition and antitrust lawsuits involving Search and advertising technology, alongside wider privacy, copyright, AI and platform-regulation risks. The materials cited here do not establish the current procedural status of each legal matter, so no specific case outcome should be assumed.
How to assess Alphabet’s outlook without treating a target as a verdict
A useful forecast separates reported performance, management plans, analyst opinion and valuation. For Alphabet, the evidence points to a business growing quickly in Q2 2026 and a much larger investment program; it does not establish a single reliable future share price. Investors evaluating the outlook can monitor:
- Whether Services and Cloud growth persist, and whether Cloud growth converts into sustained operating profit.
- Whether AI-related capacity leads to measurable monetization and customer demand across Search, Cloud and other services.
- How depreciation, data-center operating costs and capex affect margins and free cash flow as infrastructure expands.
- Whether advertising remains resilient as formats, privacy practices and consumer information-seeking behavior change.
- How analyst estimates and target ranges change over time, while keeping the share class, observation date and forecast horizon attached to every comparison.
No independently authored fair-value estimate is established by the figures presented here. Producing one would require explicit assumptions about revenue and earnings growth, margins, capex, depreciation, working capital, share count, discount rate or valuation multiple, and terminal value. The analyst average is therefore best read as one dated market-expectations reference—not as fair value.
