There is no guaranteed “refund trick” on AliExpress. The legitimate route is to open the relevant order and use its Return/Refund or dispute option, then follow the instructions and deadlines shown for that order. A no-reason return may be available when a product is covered by Free Return; damaged, missing, or misdescribed orders follow a problem-based dispute route. Eligibility and terms vary by product and region.
How do I get a refund on AliExpress?
- Open the order. Sign in, go to your orders, and select the order in question. Use the Return/Refund or dispute function displayed on that order. For EU/EEA/UK consumers, AliExpress’s May 2025 terms direct buyer-seller disputes to its Customer Service Dispute Resolution System through the order page or Customer Service portal. The regional terms do not establish a worldwide process or replace applicable statutory rights.
- Choose the accurate reason and remedy. Describe what happened clearly and request the outcome that fits, such as a return and refund or a refund for an order problem. Do not claim an item was damaged, missing, or different from its description if that is not true.
- Attach relevant, authentic evidence. For damage or a mismatch, clear photographs can help show the item and the issue; include relevant order details. The platform sources do not set one universal evidence checklist, so follow the prompts for your case.
- Read the order-specific decision and instructions. Check whether the product is covered by Free Return or another return service, and review any label, packing, condition, and dispatch requirements before sending anything.
- Keep records. Retain platform messages and, if returning an item, the shipping receipt and tracking details. Keep communications and any agreed resolution on the platform rather than relying on an unrecorded seller promise.

Can I return an AliExpress order for free?
Only if the order qualifies under the return service shown for that product and region. AliExpress’s Free Return terms, published in November 2022, describe participating products that can be returned without giving a reason within 15 calendar days after receipt is confirmed by the buyer or automatically by the system. The terms require opening the return through the order page and describe a further 15-calendar-day period to send the item back after applying. These are service-specific terms, not a general promise of free returns on every AliExpress order. How should I prepare an item before sending it back?
Do not discard packaging or alter the product while deciding what to do. The applicable Free Returns terms say returned products are checked against intactness requirements, and the refund process may be affected if those requirements are not met. The exact condition rules depend on the applicable terms, so read the order’s instructions before packing or dispatching the item. What if the seller and I disagree?
Keep the issue and proposed resolution in the AliExpress order or dispute workflow. If a seller proposes a solution, make sure it is recorded in the platform case before you rely on it or close the dispute. AliExpress’s May 2025 consumer terms for the EU/EEA/UK identify the platform Customer Service Dispute Resolution System for buyer-seller disputes and state that the process is without prejudice to applicable statutory consumer rights. Those terms apply to the specified region, not automatically worldwide: EU/EEA/UK consumer terms.

When will the refund arrive?
The cited official terms do not establish a universal time for refund credit. Check the status in the order or case and any timing information shown there; do not assume that approval, return delivery, and credit to the original payment method happen on the same schedule.
