ALDI’s documented $40 Thanksgiving meal for 10 was a 2025 grocery estimate, not a confirmed 2026 offer. ALDI’s fall 2026 price announcement does not give a Thanksgiving meal price or confirm that the basket has returned. The 2025 estimate worked out to $4 per person, but it covered groceries to cook a meal—not a ready-made dinner—and the final cost could vary by store, availability and selection.
Is ALDI’s $40 Thanksgiving meal back in 2026?
There is no verified 2026 Thanksgiving basket price in ALDI’s official announcements cited here. Its September 23, 2026 fall price announcement describes price reductions scheduled to last until at least November 3, but it does not announce a Thanksgiving meal deal.
That announcement estimates $86 million in additional fall price investments. ALDI says actual savings, prices and availability can vary by store; online and delivery prices may be higher than in-store prices. Those seasonal price cuts are not evidence that the 2025 Thanksgiving offer has returned.
What did ALDI’s 2025 meal for 10 cost?
ALDI’s October 15, 2025 announcement estimated a total of $40 for a meal for 10, or $4 per person. The estimate assumed a 14-pound Jennie-O turkey and 21 individually purchased products and ingredients for the turkey, nine sides and dessert. The listed offer period was October 15 through December 24, 2025.

ALDI said customers could buy the ingredients individually, with prices marked on shelf; no coupon or membership was required. It also cautioned that the actual total would depend on product availability and customer selections, and that online prices could differ slightly from local in-store prices. So $40 was an estimate for the specified grocery list, not a guaranteed checkout total for every shopper.

| Offer or estimate | What it covered | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| ALDI, 2025: estimated $40 for 10 | Individually purchased ingredients; assumed a 14-pound Jennie-O turkey. ALDI’s stated period was October 15–December 24, 2025. | ALDI said it was lower than the previous year. The actual bill could vary by products, availability and shopping channel. ALDI’s 2025 announcement |
| ALDI, 2024: less than $47 for 10 | Basket assumed a 16-pound turkey; listed pricing validity ended November 27, 2024. | ALDI called it the lowest-priced Thanksgiving basket in five years. It was not an identical comparison to the 2025 basket because the turkey-weight assumption differed. ALDI’s 2024 announcement |
| American Farm Bureau Federation, 2025: $55.16 for 10 | Survey estimate reported by the Associated Press; basket and method differed from ALDI’s promotion. | Not a like-for-like proof that ALDI was cheaper. The AP also reported a separate Wells Fargo Agri-Food Institute estimate of $80 for a store-brand meal for 10. Associated Press report |
ALDI’s “lower than last year” statement refers to its own promotional estimates. Its 2024 release’s “lowest in five years” claim referred to that year’s basket. These are company claims about different baskets, not an independently verified all-time price record. Grocery basket estimates also depend on what is included and how prices are collected, so a meaningful comparison needs the same serving count, turkey size and brand, product quantities, date range, location and in-store or online basis.

What should shoppers check before budgeting?
- Confirm the current offer: Look for an official ALDI announcement specifying a 2026 price, dates and item list. The cited fall price-cut announcement does not supply those details.
- Compare the whole basket: Check that competing estimates include the same number of servings, turkey weight and brand, ingredients and quantities—not just a headline price.
- Allow for local variation: ALDI’s 2025 estimate was not a universal checkout guarantee; product selection, availability, store and online pricing can affect the total.
