Akralos Animal Nutrition officially launched on February 1, 2026, combining Alltech’s Hubbard Feeds and Masterfeeds businesses with ADM’s U.S. feed operations. The new North American company says it is fully operational and serving customers, while Hubbard and Masterfeeds remain familiar customer-facing brands as product and portfolio alignment continues.

What is Akralos Animal Nutrition?

Akralos is a North American animal-feed and nutrition company serving livestock, equine, backyard and leisure animal markets. Its February 2026 launch release says it operates more than 40 feed mills and employs more than 1,400 team members. Those are company-reported figures from the launch announcement, not independent industry measurements. Akralos’s launch announcement

Which Alltech and ADM businesses were combined?

The transaction was first announced as an agreement on September 23, 2025; the February 2026 announcement marked Akralos’s launch as an operating company. Under the agreement, Alltech contributed its U.S.-based Hubbard Feeds and Canada-based Masterfeeds businesses, while ADM contributed its U.S. feed operations. The September 2025 agreement announcement

The agreement announcement listed 17 U.S. mills and 15 Canadian mills for the Alltech businesses, and 11 U.S. mills for ADM. These are transaction-era counts from that 2025 announcement; they are distinct from Akralos’s later launch figure of more than 40 mills.

Who owns Akralos and what did the parents retain?

Alltech is the majority owner, and the two parent companies have equal representation on Akralos’s board, according to their September 2025 announcement. Ownership and board representation are separate from the list of contributed operating businesses.

Alltech retained Ridley Block Operations, Ridley Feed Ingredients and its specialty ingredients business; those units were described as partners and suppliers to the venture. ADM retained its Canadian locations and its U.S. premix and additive businesses, whose products and capabilities could supply Akralos. The companies’ agreement announcement

Will customers still see Hubbard Feeds and Masterfeeds?

Yes. The launch release identifies Hubbard and Masterfeeds as core customer-facing brands. Akralos says product and portfolio alignment is underway, so the launch does not mean every product, formula or brand has already been integrated or changed. Akralos’s launch announcement

Akralos’s current portfolio pages list brands including Hubbard, Masterfeeds, McCauley’s, Blueprint, Crystalyx, Homestead, Powerstart, Rite-Lix, Show-Rite, Show-Tec and Farm Choice Feeds. The company describes products spanning feeds, minerals and supplements. Akralos portfolio Akralos brands

  • Hubbard: Its listed offerings include Blueprint minerals, Crystalyx low-moisture blocks, Powerstart gut-health solutions, and ShowTec and Show-Rite competition livestock feeds.
  • Masterfeeds: The company says it has served Canadian producers with complete feeds, premixes and supplements since 1929.
  • McCauley’s: Akralos describes this as an equine nutrition brand for horses of varied ages and activity levels.

Which animals and product categories does Akralos serve?

The company describes its customer markets as livestock, horses, backyard animals and leisure animals. Its portfolio covers feed, minerals and supplements rather than a single animal category or product format. For a buyer, the useful starting points are the animal and use case, the product format, local availability and access to nutrition advice; the portfolio listing is not an independent comparison of suppliers or products. What does the joint venture say it will add?

Akralos and its executives describe the combination as bringing together manufacturing capacity, existing product portfolios, nutrition expertise, research and development, logistics and customer service. CEO Brian Gier said the company’s focus from launch was reliable nutrition, customer support and partnerships. COO Brad Dalke said the goal was deeper expertise, broader support and a stronger portfolio of nutrition solutions and services.

Those are management’s stated aims, not independently demonstrated customer outcomes. The launch materials do not establish measured improvements in feed performance, service, customer profitability or resilience.
